i like tom horn also, good ground and 3m trip should suit. On a sidenote, I think anybody backing courage at 3/1 needs their head examined, should be 8 or 10/1. Might have an ew on tangolan at 8s..

7.30 hang on groovy, will that be able to follow up tonight? moving up in trip. dont know the rest of the runners. well named horse and a shock winner LTO. market leader, suppose there will be an unknown improver winning that race?.

Tough race alright Tony, one who shouldn,t have a bother with the ground is Excellent as Usual, wouldn,t be rated as high as some over hurdles but still ran a decent race here last time where he was just done on the line, Western Man was 25L+ behind that evening, thought he got a "gentle race" and is shorter in the betting tonight. At a best priced 20/1 i,d take a chance EAU might get a place. Point The Toes 6.30 won well enough an admittedly fairly average mares race at Downpatrick and she got 7lb for that, slight raise in trip but ground the same tonight. Thought the other mare Fitzgutantyte was a bit laboured last time and would be hoping PTT with her usual hold up style may swoop late.See it hard for her to be out of the places at 6/1. GL

The race looks a match between Tom Horn and Stonemaster. Tom Horn will love both the ground and the trip and has course form,he won his maiden hurdle there. Stonemaster has had 11 chase runs finishing second three times, ground is not in his favour and he looks unwilling to me he just sulked on his last run in Punchestown,he is fast becoming a hound.
Tom Horn a stand out bet for me.
Stonemaster is becoming a hound but Courage is a fully paid up member of the hound club so agree with Kingkauto that 3/1 about that beast is a joke, just to emphasise the point the horse that beat Courage in Roscommon was Faanan Aldaar,I am not convinced about Great Jones so think Honourable Emperor is the one. Highly rated flat horse who seemed not to like the heavy ground but when he encounterd today's ground he improved dramatically and finished second when seemingly unfancied..
Toner DOudairies will do for me in the 8.00,on breeding the ground should be alright for him and even though he is a bit of a thinker he is far and away the best horse in the race.
So there's our Trixie for the day, sounds easy but I think the first is the strongest, the second selection next up and third the weakest.

the mullins runner in the first was a bit disappointing on debut? but must hold all the cards this time and if normal improvement is forth coming then 7/4? wouldn't surprise me if it went shorter!

Don,t know about disappointing Tony, travelled well enough and ran a fairly good race imo though the winner Captain Lob didn,t show a whole lot before that,so in that sense maybe. May well win, think he is skinny myself, Castletimeon only 3L behind last run, probably will confirm that but doesn,t deserve the difference in the price between the two,Goal showed improvement at Aintree and ran a stormer there.Ye have Courage right above, still ran well against better.Honourable Emperor had a fair introduction in Tipp in a big field maiden, rated mid 90,s on the flat, was thought well enough to run in a G3. Too many questions in there for me.

I take what you say pa,..i thought it was disappointing cos it didn't win..it won on heavy fto and im sure they thought they had a winter horse?...but if it wins tonight then we,ll see were they go.

There is a fair chance that ride in the first is one of the Greatest of all time. Take no notice of the Idiot on ATR (they won't show the replay as a horse is down) Condon had to jump a horse and then survive the others trying to put him over the rail on the run to the last. A performance for the ages in the saddle imo

Those that like Tom Horn will be looking for a good run from DATOKEPE in the 8.00, but I was impressed with BEACHDALE LAD last time, will take some catching around here if it leads.

Davy Condon is fast becoming an outstanding rider and is very close to, if in fact he already hasn't joined the top table of riders. On a different note, anybody who falls for these big syndicates like Supreme and on a posher scale Highclere, need urgent medical care.

I will say one thing about DJ's comment. If I see a horse I have backed of Willie Mullins drfting right at the death like that (Betfair SP 2.97 but available to back at 3.4) I know I'm in trouble. Not saying anything hooky but someone knows more than the rest of us right at the end no question

Agree re Condon. The guy really came to prominence the day he won on Go Native in the Fighting Fifth years ago. He probably hasn't gotten the chances he should have gotten but he will now.
I'm going to back Six Stone Ned e/w in the 8:00. I think the ground had gone soft when Beachdale Lad won at Roscommon and it looks lightning tonight and I'm not certain he'll appreciate it. Six Stone travels well, will love the ground and is a very solid jumper. Playtime Ben has let his form down a little, but that horse didn't jump a fence when he was beaten last time so maybe he is a little better than he has shown of late. GL all anyway.

Up on the wwebsite Trainer said will love the trip, ground etc.. 2nd there a few weeks ago same ground. The 6/4 is away early doors and 3 times the bookies tried to shorten it only for the weight of layers to push it to 3.4 at the off. I had €400 on it, I would have taken £300 of my money off someone at the start

Not sure Great Jones was in love with that ground but that was still a very unusual ride from Walsh. he made a mistake at one of the hurdles in the second part of the race and then Walsh just gave up. He might and I stress the word might have won if Walsh was about his bussiness given everything that transpired in the end. Could has whizzed down the outside given all the **** that went on inside.

Dj the Betfair SP is an average. It took me ages to figure that out. I don't know the formula fully but the fact that there was much laid at 6/4 7/4 etc.. contributes to it. The Betfair SP is not for our benefit but for the layers and the idiots that put up Betfair SP as opposed to watching the market

I am aware of their numerical presence Tony 57 ,but in the grand scheme of things they are nothing owners. It's not that amazing really as previously stated on the thread it's amazing that so many fools are willing to pay so much for a tiny fraction of a lease while they race.
Lustrumm-I am surprised to hear that (must look into it)-I presumed it was because there is no BF rep at midweek Irish meetings and hence the late suspensions with the delayed pictures.

Surprised as well with that Lustrumm, not doubting ya by the way, also not sure would it be totally ethical that it is partly based on the bets left up for I/R and not the exact price say a fraction of a second before the real off. Know you were aware of it Wildman and not a criticism in the slightest but Toner looked a horse to be laid in future, the ears were back and totally guessed at the fences.

Winner is a better horse than I thought he was. Interesting to see where they go with him and Steps to Freedom. NH really is all year round these days.

How right you are Pa Lapsy and the annoying thing is I knew he was a thinker yet put him in the bet anyway.
The Betfair SP is to a 100 percent book so hardly advantageous to layers although I accept that Betfair are layer friendly strictly because they run out of them.

Easy to be right after WMFB and he had very good form, chance he could have been on his best behaviour as well, an alarming run from him tonight though. Winner was impressive.

Yeah good shot Tony and Wildman and any other winners. Two casualties for me,one fatal and the other possibly, Hang on Groovy badly injured as well, bad night for some smaller trainers and commiserations to them.

By the way for those querying Betfait SP. I wasn't giving you an opinion, I was telling you the actual fact of the matter. Betfair SP is an average of all the money traded on the horse up until the off. Take the last Winner at Windsor as an example. Odds on all, drifted out almost 3.3 on here at the off, betfair SP 2.44

most interesting race on the card 7.30, the winner was well backed into 7/2 from 10//1 then drifted back out to 7/1 with the bookies and the betfair sp was massive ocompared to industry sp. market knew that was the one, lots of winners on this thread tonight.wd all

Roadrunner the winner was 14 on here at the off, I looked at the graph and very little was laid at below 10 (pennies and Euros)Hence the Betfair SP of 13+
Where ever the gamble on the winner was this morning it wasn't on here. Incredibly after lining up in front, clearly looking like a trier and popping the first 3 or 4 in front on an easy lead it was still 18 to back all the around the first lap, 12 to back on the last lap and then straight into odds on once whoever thought he knew something realised he had been put away. As you said yourself the most interesting betting race of the night

it was a gamble. cause i watched the market about 1 hour beofre the race, winner was gambled from around 10/1 and i saw 7/2. dont think the prices had moved on betfair, same time hang on groovy was drifting. never checked the prices on betfair, race time the prices had all settled at the sp's 7/1. winner had form over the trip and was well handicappped on previuos form, with hang on groovy a suspect stayer and weak fav. was a logical choice for a value bet RPR 125 0R 95.

Race 1) Honourable Emperor (5/2 2f) Had solid winter form which came to the fore here. Nina represented Meade here tonight.
Race 2) Gudnis Gracious Me (9/1) Made all and no cheering as this one went by the post. A welcome return to the winners enclosure for veteran dublin owner Eddie Donegan.
Race 3) Akatara (3/1 2f) Followed up a recent CD victory here. A change in tactics has been the key to her, coming from behind. Not a natural thing for Bowe horses.
Race 4) Cervezo Dinero (7/1 j2f) A morning gamble form 16/1 was landed as this one made all. Ebullient owners were heading to Seamus Darby's pub in Toomevara for the celebrations.
Race 5) Beachdale Lad (5/4f) Another front running performance here with a very taking victory. Mark Bolger gave him a good ride. Nothing wrong with the chase course. HRI made a blunder saying remedial work was needed on Friday morning.
Race 6) Double Seven (14/1) A few bob in the morning for this one. Got a patient ride off Mark Walsh and pulverised the opposition. The Midland National here in 3 weeks could be an option.
Race 7) Tom Horn (6/4f) Sent the punters home happy ( and those on here who followed WMFB and Tony57)as he was always doing just enough in behind. Got a lovely run up the inside round the bend.

I defend Ruby saying he is not gaining financially and you misconstrue this to mean he is receiving vast swathes of cash.
