I had no bet so not talking through my pocket , but watched this horse on the machine drift from 2.12 to 2.38 on the off and watched young dawson give an exhibition on how to " stop one " from stall one .... anyone agree ????
I have watched this replay back a few times. The 2 most important parts of this race were the start, Edith Cowan coming out of stall 1 gets a fair barge of Collingwood(2)(Katie Walsh)and the filly runs very keenly for the next couple of furlongs.
The part of the race I found suspicious is a furlong and a half from home,Ray Dawson has her on the wide outside, has a clear run home and switches her back inside Dansili Duel(Tinkler colours).
BSp was 2.24 so not that big a drifter but you would have expected her to be shorter under a mandatory 5lb penalty given the manner of her recent c+d win.

were you there by any chance WILDMAN ..?...I backed bolgers first winner @ 7/4 i thought she looked really well in the paddock there was a mountain of money for it right at the off , she had a slight cut on her hind leg when she got back in so did well to win as readily as she did ..I also backed FLY THE FLAG who i also thought looked really well .,My impression is this fellow has a mind of his own and needs more than c/pieces his head went straight up when put under pressure....Thats the reason i ask . if you were and got a chance to looked at him what was your impression...?

A point you have been making here for a long while is the importance of looking at the horses in the paddock, its vital and one of the best reasons for going to the races.
No sadly just watched it on television.A point you have been making here for a long while is the importance of looking at the horses in the paddock, its vital and one of the best reasons for going to the races.
I believe that the preparade and paddock are the most important places for any serious punter , You can learn so much just from watching a horse , and how it reacts to its surroundings on that given day ....

''You shouldn't really have a serious bet on a horse without being there on the day and seeing it for yourself. ''
Is this a joke? google for zeljko ranogajec, the guy hasn't been racing in about 15 years apart from a cpl of days out at the melbourne cup, alan woods always claimed he hadn't been to the track in circa 20 years.

Ozymandius read that somewhere thought it sounded knowledgeable so regurgitated on here.
Looking at horses in the parade ring is only an advantage if you know what to look out for.Workrider is a judge of a horse so would be useful to Rickson G who relies on the work of others.

If we all adhered to "being there on the day " there would be no serious off course betting , which there is and always has been .
Regarding putting your money down , paddock inspection obviously helps if you know horses , but weight of money to me is of more significance . Know I have backed very few drifters which have won , compared with hardeners who have . Follow the money has nearly always worked for me .
