I,d appreciate some of the lads opinions on whether the bad ride this one got lto is something to forget and just go with..i hate backing unlucky horses co,s its usually a bookies bonanza..but this was a dreadful ride and the horse should of won..says something that hughes stays on the horse when he could of rode the queens runner who has a progressive profile..needless to say its a tough race to pick a place horse never mind the winner but I,d like others thoughts on the race...good luck all
fwiw; Tony, Hughsie in his column last Sat., didn't say a lot about Wentworth, just that he needed the run at Goodwood, and is a big lazy type of horse, and said if you don't travel you wont win a Britannia. So he must feel he will travel well, and have a decent shout. Tony I fancy Alive Alive Oh, from T Stacks stable in the 2nd race, as she was very impressive last time out. She has beaten Ballydoyle's Magical Dream 6l. Now the same Magical Dream got to within 3 lengths+hd., of Sky Lantern in a biggie late last yr., so this is form of a very high standard. Classic form really. This was 3.75 on here earlier but all gone now. Shortening all the while.

I think we have a NR in that 2nd race as JP Spencers mount seems to be out, and most likely a factor in the price movement of Alive, Alive Oh................

thanks jay..i,ll have alook at stacks...I was disappointed with the ride wentworth got lto and if hughes thinks the horse is a bit lazy then I expect a different approach here in what is a tough race..thanks for that jay..

Yep Tony not R Hughes finest hour at Goodwood worrying thing about that race though winner well beaten twice since also close up fourth also beaten twice (admittedly at listed class). Probably a well handicapped animal though and doubt about second fav running because of fast going. Hard one to call but ill stick with the old adage "if in doubt best stay out " ..Good luck if you punt him.

Alive Oh for me as well today, could have been supplemented for the oaks but decided to wait for this & as already said, very impressive LTO, tend to steer clear of the cavalry charges but gl with wentworth.

They should obviously have watered, Stickels clueless, trusting the weather forecasters, when they have not exactly shone for the last decade. Huge error by Mr. Stickels and the ground must be like the road..........ruins ladies day, hope there are no injuries to the horses.

I thought he done well to get it placed.Drawn 30 seems an impossible trap to win from the way the race worked out with every runner going to the far side.If he stayed on his own up the standside i fear your place money would have gone for a burton.

Wentworth has a close relative running in the first at Ascot 2day. Has achieved a Racing Post Rating of 105, (Timeform 108), after her last win. Her winning time for that race has only been bettered by Cuais Ghaire, 1m.10.26 against 1m.9.30. Takes on lots of maiden winners who all have to step to beat her. One or two might just do that, but today I'm with the proven form of Sandiva...........

Not many seem to have noticed the finish of Fehaydi in the same race- understandable given the uproar over the ride on Wentworth but he could offer some ew value if turnin up against him on Sat! Finished absolutely full of runnin if u see the replay, is actually behind Wentworth 2f out, switched in to follow him thru, then went to go out and had to cut back in, ran up a dead end and had to be snatched up and absolutely ate ground home under very light handling as chance had gone

Yellow colours at the back!
Defo a race in him off his current mark but dunno if he is intended or nt - needs a few to come out too, will play ew if turnin up

Hugh Taylor gave Fehaydi in his Ascot eyecatchers spot on ATR, and did actually point out that he'd rather back him going up in trip rather than over a mile again.
