I'd be against you on the Cork hurlers King. Don't think they have the players at the moment. Sean Og and Sweetnam were important to them last year and are both gone while they have a big injury list even aside from that. Both Clare and Limerick have better players and I can't see any circumstances where Cork would beat them both.

Good Luck anyway though, game of opinions and that.
Report kingrat • June 18, 2013 7:17 PM BST
well i tell u neil, maybe yre right but i make cork odds on to beat clare in the gaelic grounds and tbh i am convinced they will win.afterwards i will decide on what the play is ,if of course cork win.there is no differance imo between the 3 teams in terms of fittness or the physical exchanges(intenseity) but cork have the better stick men and in jbm ,he has brains.
Report neill d • June 18, 2013 7:23 PM BST
Good luck with it anyway, it would be in the physical where I would worry about Cork really. No bet on it from me, I'd just love to see Limerick win it.
Report neill d • June 18, 2013 7:25 PM BST
The thing you have in your favour most with Cork is they expect to win it.
Report kingrat • June 18, 2013 7:27 PM BST
its all about the price neil and at 100/30 i'm in!
Report neill d • June 18, 2013 7:32 PM BST
True and I am probably biased in favour of Limerick. Hurling Championship has a much fresher feel about it this year. Final will be great day whoever is in it. Looking at Clare negatives, I'd say Cork have a cleverer fella on the line, and it will be close so that could tell.
Report kingrat • June 18, 2013 7:39 PM BST
Laughyeah the differance between a nut job and jbm.its no contest.
Report neill d • June 18, 2013 7:44 PM BST
we'll see sure, working in England at the minute and on Sunday (probably for best, would only do the dog on it in a pub) so won't see it, hope to get the highlights on youtube or something.

GREAT START GUESSER......at least your 100% record still intact......Ta again for the lay......
Report Rocketfingers • June 18, 2013 10:12 PM BST
richters why don't you put up a bet instead, your last one was the incredible New York bet which came from the stranger you met in the toilet who said he was worried when you were standing beside him. Give over and put up your own bet.

Report CheltenhamRoar • June 18, 2013 11:07 PM BST
Well Spain are 1.01 to win the game.

if you fancy the draw u can have 150/1

and if you fancy tahiti you can have a bit of  570/1 Laugh

Rocket , people who continually put up their selections on here must have nothing else to do . It stands to sense that sometimes they will click , but generally most of us dont want to know what the "tipster shouters " put up on here .  Richters seems to have twigged that some posters picks more losers than winners and follows that up  as a lay .  At the end of the day the only thing relevant about a betting site/ operation is the profit you make .

If someone goes to the trouble of explaining their opinion in some detail , fair enough , provided its logical or has some frisson of "inside information " not generally known . But if its the equivalent of dart board picks , most of us dont want to know .

Montecristo put up a "selection " post for the All -Ireland football this year , only 32 people posted their selections , but I would expect that the results of that will indicate those who have an insight into football .

On the golf forum , in the lead up to a major or WGC , I have regularly counted over 90 "fancies / tips" posted by the worthies , and occasionally nobody gets the winner ( Curtis , Immelman , Cabrera , Daly , etc etc ) .  But if someone does land on the winner everyone thinks they have witnessed the second coming .

Profit is the only criteria  , everyone has their own way of creating it , it would be interesting to know those who regularly make money and have done so for years .  I want to listen to those who are "addicted" to winning as JP put it .  Price matters not , profit is the only criteria  , unless you are only in it for the craic .  I'm not .

Report Kelly • June 18, 2013 11:20 PM BST
Pretty obvious kingrat . Unless you cant see the logic in my post . Did you win money today ?
Report kingrat • June 18, 2013 11:23 PM BST

put up a bet m8,lets have it!
Report Rocketfingers • June 18, 2013 11:30 PM BST
So Kelly what you're saying is you're a pro?
Report Kelly • June 18, 2013 11:31 PM BST
Not interested in tipping kingrat , but wouldn't expect you to figure that out from my post , which was directed at Rocketfingers . Only criteria is profit , and thats not measurable except to the individual , and its private .

So did you win today ?
Report Rocketfingers • June 18, 2013 11:33 PM BST
So Ke
Report Rocketfingers • June 18, 2013 11:33 PM BST
So Kelly are you now a pro?
Report kingrat • June 18, 2013 11:37 PM BST
thats yre problem kelly,u have no creditibility and in fairness u should not get involved in a thread about betting.
Report Kelly • June 18, 2013 11:41 PM BST
Rocket , not sure what you mean exactly by being a pro .  The JP interview from a couple of years ago was very insightful , thats where I got the "addicted to winning" thing .

The best article re betting I ever read was written about 10 years ago by a pro punter .  I took that on board , revised my betting basics which evolved over previous 40 years  and it yields dividends .

I have been retired for about 12 years , Betfair was in its infancy when I joined  , they were hoping to rise to a turnover of a million a week then believe it or not . I saw the possibilities then and acted accordingly .

Nowadays I turnover less than 10% of what I used to do in the good old days when the bookies would lay decent bets , was offered £1.25 today on a 2/1 shot ( beaten ) by one of the big 5 .  Strewth !
Report Rocketfingers • June 18, 2013 11:44 PM BST
So let's clear this up Kelly, you are a pro punter? Simply answer yes or no !
Report Kelly • June 18, 2013 11:47 PM BST
Kingrat , it may have escaped your notice , but betting ( for a profit) and tipping are distinctly different .  Betting for profit is about value , tipping is for people wanting to boost their egos .

Prince Monolulu was a  high profile tipster , most of the pros laughed at him .
Report Rocketfingers • June 18, 2013 11:50 PM BST
Kelly answer the question please that i asked you, are you a pro punter?
Report kingrat • June 19, 2013 12:00 AM BST
what age are u kelly ?
Report Kelly • June 19, 2013 12:00 AM BST
Rocket , if betting solely for profit is a definiton of a pro punter , yes .  I watch all sorts of sport every day without any specific "need " for a bet  , watched the cricket the other day , virtually a whole match , there was no "value" so I did not have a bet on it . I always make money on the cricket , wish it was 24/7 and year round .  The tennis is trickier though , too many courtside .

Started watching the rugby this morning , backed the Lions at 1.38 in running just after kick off, but after 2 minutes I wanted out of the bet , laid them back at 1.3 , leaving profit if they won , which even at that stage I was beginning to doubt  . Rag tag team vs a well organised Aussie outfit ( minus their Aussie test players) .  The rest is history . First defeat for Lions this tour .

Only bet substantially on one race today , at Ascot , and because it is a "big " meeting you can get decent money on with a bit of effort .  There was value in that race , worked out well .
Report Kelly • June 19, 2013 12:11 AM BST
kingrat , the first bet I ever had was on Teal in the Grand National . Fifties , not sure what age I was , it was sixpence each way . When I started betting it was 1/4 the odds a place all races , even the dead eight  , each way doubles , trebles , quads etc were the dart . First bookie to refuse me a bet was the late Sean Graham , working for his Uncle Matt at the time , Townsend Street pitch  , refused me £15 each way a 4/1 shot in an 8 horse race ( finished second) -- win only from across the counter . We bantered  about that in later years on the golf course .  Cigarettes were 20p a packet then .

Sean hated each way . He knew when it was against him .

Report Kelly • June 19, 2013 12:30 AM BST
Designed computer systems ( financial ) most of the time .  One of my mates was working on a project in 1980 , explained it to me , but he never got proper funding for it . Pity , it was a fore runner to Google , he was designing a search engine for Hansard .  Mind you his sons are making hay with a computer system with international possibilities  they designed with big  help from one of my brothers  and a smattering from me  , the Yanks want to buy their system , fair play to them they are negotiating hard . And they like a bet on the golf .  They mulled over an embryo exchange betting set up too , specific , but thats huge potatoes  , out of their reach then , maybe not in the future .
Report kingrat • June 19, 2013 12:36 AM BST

Just had a look at tomorrows Ascot card , only races interesting me would be 3.05 and 3.45  .  Maybe an each way double suggests itself .
