A come down from last weeks quality in field and course, but nevertheless, a winner is a winner....
Would not be overly keen on any of the market leaders, Rose may opt not to play, and have a deserved week off. On this point, it may be worth placing your bets earlier, as if he does withdraw, odds will be slightly cut, some more proportionally than deserved. If he does line up, he may be one to back pre off, and lay off at end of round one. I find it quite common for someone who has won a big event/breakthrough win/breakthrough major, to come out of traps very quickly the following week, fuelled by the adrenalin of the previous weeks exploits, then fatigue, both mental and physical sets in. Mat Manassero being the latest example, after winning the Bmw, he was supreme on Thursday, and even Friday, before capitulating, and looking pure exhausted.
I would have no interest in Westwood(no course form, wont hole enough birdie putts), Bradley(poor course form, from limited starts), Simpson likewise. Mahan has sexy course form figures, but looked drained by end of Sunday, and may not have the stomach for battle again so soon.  I may end up backing Dufner, who also has poor course form, but that was from 2008 and before, when all his form was generally poor, so nothing to say he wont adapt to it, now he is a far superior player, and the course should suit. One who finally looked to find his form at the weekend, producing a superb round on Sunday. And most importantly, finding some confidence with the putter. I have just talked myself into backing him!! 25-1, 6 places with BVictor.
Ryan Moore at 40s with the same firm looks good bet. Missed cut at the weekend can prove a blessing in disguise, he has 3 top 4s in his last 7 visits here, and having thrown away a great chance of victory here two years ago, as a recent enough winner, he may get over the line this time, and gain a deserved win here.
John Rollins is not someone I would usually back, as believe he is a bit of a bottler, but at 40s with 6 places Betvictor, he is also worth an e.w bet. A player who usually groups his good performances together, he has been top 6 in his last two outings, and top 4 in his last two visits here. Wasn't at Merrion, so will be fresher than most, and is very likely to be on the premises.
Stewart Cink is a two time winner here, who completely lost his way after his win in the British Open. His last two visits here can be ignored, because he was playing truly awful, but is slowly finding his game, and returning here may be the final piece in the jigsaw, to see him returning to contending on Sunday. 100-1  5 places, or 80s  6 places available, he is well worth including.
Finally I am going with Camilo Villegas. Have been very sweet on him lately, he came close to rewarding e.w support last time out, he too had last week off, and a finish of 29th last year can be upgraded in that he was in generally very poor form at the time, and comes here now in much better nick. He started last years final round two shots ahead of eventual winner Mark Leishman, and went through the first 44 holes with only one bogey, before maybe the pressure of contending when it was so rare for him at the time, possibly told. E.w at 80-1.
Or you can ignore all that sh*te, and ask Deplasterer for the winner, which he provided last week, who I so confidently scoffed at at the timeSad

Dont bottle it Kavvie.

Down defence has a tendency to leak goals , kavvie  ,which would make me keep my powder dry . Teams leaking goals generally dont stay close to a good team , which Donegal are .

Quite honestly , Down surprised me against Derry , after a pretty dreary first half show .  Still not sure if Derry ran out of steam completely or if Down upped their game . Think it was the former .

Will there be a handicap on here ? ( not that that might be relevant , often I find that theres only me and few other souls  betting in running in the non high profile matches ) .

Like Ryan Moore here too, but agree with BJG, prices tight at present.
Report Deplasterer • June 19, 2013 11:08 AM BST
Not happy with prices & don't look like shifting too much, but went for Ryan Moore at 46's W & Place, good recent record here which helps, hopefully.

Padraig at 55's W & Place also. Likes it here also, but might well be using this as a practice for carlton house next week, I'll chance that he isn't.

Think Dufner is on his way back but to short for my liking.

anyone else done the pp pick2 top ten in both tournaments, done kaymer/stenson  bubba/mahan  50/1 slightly hopefull at halfway
Report callitasucit • June 22, 2013 4:18 PM BST
3.4 on Bubba seems decent price. Mahan could understandably start to feel fatigued, Webb and Bradley are 4 shots back. Pod has thrown in some shockers when in contention. Also had few quid e.w on Zach. If he gets his putter going, he could go low, it has been letting him down from distances he is usually clinical from. Hopefully either Rollins or Villegas can make a charge into contention this evening.
Report Deplasterer • June 22, 2013 6:10 PM BST
Only man charging is Ryan Moore Callit,Love, hopefully Pod can shoot 67 or better too.
Report callitasucit • June 23, 2013 1:04 AM BST
Ya, shame Moores charge halted DP. A birdie on d par 5 would have put him into share of second at the time. The bogey seemed to halt his momentum. With Bubba finishing so poorly, its wide open though. If Moore could bang in a 64 tomorrow, he could bring it home.
Report Deplasterer • June 23, 2013 4:03 PM BST
Jesus, Padraig was awful last nite, a miracle +2 he had, could have, actually should have been +6, thankfully leaders were nearly as bad, who wins tonight is anyone's guess.
Report callitasucit • June 23, 2013 6:02 PM BST
Bad start for Pod again. Had few quid on Els this morning at 3s, so threw few extra pound on Bubba. Still value imo. Couple o shots in the dark on Moore at 70 and Leishman at 130. Good luck MP06 with the top ten bet, Stenson scraped through for you.

Pod 3 over thru 3 today, and turning a potentially good week into another shambles.

That's the problem calll, maybe R Moore fly through, have you any sweats? Lost money in Europe today, don't like it.
Report callitasucit • June 23, 2013 7:40 PM BST
Backed Moore pre tournie at 40s e.w, top 6, hoping for 11 under to nick a place. Though the way the leaders playing, 11 might get playoff!! Backed Bubba before yesterday, and again before today. Who were you on in Europe? Was in work, so didn't see any of it. Bjorn showing nice form ahead of next week, course winner. Are you going to Carton?
Pod must be the most frustrating sportsman on the planet!!
