To be fair though the standard of the so called minnows has improved in recent years in international football and not too many drubbings are handed out nowadays.

The list above only proves that if you're a teams regular first choice striker you're obviously going to score more goals than your teammates, for instance the Kuwaiti, the Trinidad and Tobago and Thailand first choice strikers are all well ahead of Robbie in the standings, bastions of world football all.

Robbie is just a decent striker nothing more with the most annoying celebration in world football, 3 goals against the might Faroe Islands should have Barcelona first in line for his services during the summer transfer window?.

I don't know why you're criticising his achievements silvergreaser by comparing the records of Kuwait and Thailand etc.

The top goalscorer for that "supposed" football powerhouse England is Bobby Charlton with only 49 goals.

Robbie's agent deserves a lot of credit too.

I didn't say he was a bad striker I said he was decent nothing more, to say he's any better than that would be pushing it don't you think?, as for Bobby Charlton, he played at a time when there was much less games.

The European Championship now has all the former Soviet republics, all the former Yougoslav republics plus Turkey and Israel, play offs etc, also the game was much slower back then, you could passed the ball back to the keeper to pick up every few seconds if you liked, so your comparison is flawed.

And how many friendly internationals do they play these days compared to Charltons era?

i would strongly dissagree with this statement.......the reason why the minnows dont get thumped is because managers are too worried about not winning when all they need to do is send the lads out and say enjoy yourselves

100% agree with Silver have a look at who he scored his goals against a lot of home friendly matches as well. He's done well for us no doubt and we'll miss him but for me he'll never be world class, i understand that's not a trendy view today given the Robbie love in that's taking place but that's my view.

If you were to play 1 up top tomorrow who would you play Long or Keane, for me Long all day every day, i thought Keane was poor in the last few irish games when they played better sides.

Kuwait women were beaten 21-0 yesterday.
I think some of the goalscorers in the list above (robbed from Wiki) were getting a hat-trick a game against sides worse than most park teams.

Faroes are rated 162nd in the world and they were missing players last night, there is not too many worse teams in world football.

No one's suggesting Robbie is world class.

I'm saying he should be given great credit for his longevity and his fantastic scoring record. I'd hazard a guess that it'll not be equalled in our lifetimes regardless of the quality of opposition.
