RTE need a new recruit, he is becoming senile....a bit deluded now...
Said Dortmund were Donkeys months ago, before the game tonight he said they are a very good team, well organised, now he is saying they are poor.
also saying Bayern are not great...!! how many times does he go back on his word...

You must forgive eamon he doesn't know what he said or is saying as he finds it very hard to put two words together in a sentence. Big jack summed him up very well but he thrives on negative publicity. When he's finally dumped he'll be like big mac su ing for unfair dismissal. Then he'll spend the rest of his life hanging out with the pigeons and even his side kick john will have disowned him.

Well if Dortmund are poor and Bayern are not great what does that say for Real, Barca, Man U etc they must be totally muck?.
Hard to argue they were probably the 2 best teams in Europe this year?, play exciting attacking football what more can you ask for? |

Brady is just as bad if not worse. I dont think Dunphy was saying either team was bad, just that they (Bayern) wont be the dominent influence over the next few seasons that people think they will be. The teams last night were the best 2 teams in Europe this season no doubt but I dont think this season has been an amazing season quality wise compared to some years.
You cant have great teams every year. For every Barcelona, theres a Porto.....Munich imho are in between |

No, no one is worse than Dunphy, this comes from the semi final where Dunphy wrote off the Germans, Said to be Bill at HT in Dort v Real first leg "Watch this these guys are ready to cave in" referring about Dortmund of course Dortmund won the match 4-1 and were brilliant in the 2nd half. He went For Barce v Bayern as well and we know what happened there, Barce beaten because they are tired even though they're about to win La Liga. Bayern beat Juve 4-0, beat Barce 7-0 and won the game last night, won the German league by 25 points breaking record after record (I think they may have broker 25 records) and can win the German cup, what more does he want? But Dunphy showed a massive lack of respect to Bayern last night and show he's clueless in the process.

In terms of "Value for money", I would guess the "RTE Football team" are one of the better in RTE in fairness.

I remember this  Also he said after Arsenal beat Bayern in the round of 16 that "this bayern side would be unable to score against Juventus of they draw them" after which he made a firm prediction that Juve would be in Wembley. And forgot to mention he also said Man U would have won the CL if Nani was not sent off |

Dunphy is clueless a lot of the time.
The best one I ever saw was Giles before RTE were showing some obscure team from Europe, and he looked stunned when O'Herlihy said to him "Well John what do you make of these fellas?" Having failed to do ANY research on the team they were showing, he says "Oh, Eamonn has seen them playing a few times...." |

I actually don't think Giles is the worse from the point of view if he is watching a game his comments and analysis are usually fair enough, i know he seems to watch little amount of football and wont know a lot about European teams and their players and i can see how that annoys people, but the way people go on you'd think he was totally clueless, he's not just lack of home work from him imo. Dunphy on the other hand is clueless.

Just take away the licence fee and give them a couple of hundred Euro a week to show the weather forecast. They should be made stand on their own two feet like most others.
