cavan armagh is to tight to call, jamie clarke to score over 3.5 pts 5/6 and to go on and recieve man of the match @ 4/1,i think galway have a squeak against mayo with home advantage @15/8
By:
Armagh & mayo are both vunerable favourites ...i'd lay the double if there was such a market...hopefully the football wont be overly negative...is the Armagh match on BBC?...BBC's coverage far superior to RTE's in particular match commentary where the commentator sounds enthusiastic & passionate & most importantly knowledgble as opposed to RTE's commentators going thru the motions with their wafer thin knowledge of the players etc...
By:
1.40 coverage starts on beeb 2 timberman, have to agree about armagh and mayo, galway are due a win against mayo, for me this is a must win for this armagh management, they have taken a big gamble selecting 18yo ciaran o hanlon at centre half forward but i think the experience of the kernans, dyas and clarke maybe will see them win this by a point or two
By:
That's grand will watch the Armagh match so....Mayo to best of my knowledge going for 3 nestor cups in a row not achieved since the 50's...a big stat to crack for them?...racing post ie Jennings strong on them 4 pts mayo 1/1 to win nestor cup....he tips Cork at 6/1 (id agree) and mayo 11/1 outright.....

I find it very difficult to really fancy Cork. After all they have been for ever in+out performers in this discipline, and the loss of their best forward is ahuge burden to the county as they do not have anyone remotely good enough to replace him.The manager has also been somewhat of a disappointment, but this particular County Board get what they deserve.
I feel its Dublin's to lose, with Tyrone the main worry. I'm think all three games today can be tight and a trixie on 3draws at big odds for me. |
By:
Think Cork were peaking in may/june winning leagues etc in past 3/4 seasons....this year give league a passing interest with main focus championship...cork have a big enough pool of players to get over injuries if you ask me..

That Joe Brolly is some arrogant prick and there hasn't even been a ball kicked this year...
By:
I thought it started next week, sad to see it take second place to the beautiful game in the Irish media.
By:
i think armagh r a lay, but with the gealic messi clarke always guna trouble people

By:
Don't think too many Organ Donees would agree with you, timberman.

Fairly ordinary stuff so far . Cant call a winner on what I have seen so far .
By:
This is shocking stuff. Terrible standard

By:
Nice to see the Ref is on crack. Punishes Armagh for a Cavan foul
![]() |
By:
Very average from Armagh . Cavan were more competent . Dont think many other counties quaking in their boots .
By:
who was hte ref?does he know the rules at all?..armagh were bad but ref was awful.
By:
armagh weren't even close to average, they were useless. end of.
By:
Armagh looked a team who simply want the coach out. No effort. The first Cavan goal was primary school standard defending.
Cavan themselves were shocking in the first half, their forwards misses were comical whether the free in front of the posts being missed or the "attempt" at the point from in front of the posts that hit the corner flag |
By:
2 of the worst intercounty teams ever witnessed today........armagh and galway
By:
Galway footballers a huge disappointment..in saying that Mayo look like a team that could go a long way this year...Armagh very stale too...big win for cavan ...
By:
mayo were good for the first half but resorted to type by easing off and trying to play handball for the third quarter they wont be able to get away with it when they get to the later stages as they have found out to their cost in the past.be interesting to see if a full side can play like the first half display for the full 70 minutes against roscommon

Thought it was ok stuff yesterday, but in terms of passion, intesity, skill, atmosphere and entertainment neither game had a patch on the league of Ireland game from Friday night between Shams and Bohs, that's fact.

Big weekend coming up with Donegal v Tyrone match....hopefully we get a game rather than a war of attrition...Cork kickstart their season sat night as well....Kerry out sunday..Louth V Laoise could be the weekends best game though...any thoughts on a bet?
PS Keen Leaders laoise had a nice win in last weekends hurling over antrim. |

Can't think of anything worse than Ulster gaelic live on the TV again this weekend, esp when you think the champions league 'soccer'final is on the previous day, i can't see many people be able to stomach Ulster gaelic live on tv less than 24 hours later.. There is one bet i think has a chance and it London+3.5.

It's a wonder the loi hasn't got a round of games on Saturday evening at 7.45.......or have they.
By:
UEFA won't allow it, rules for the 'Football family' and all that.
By:
Haha...UEFA......The FAI treat the loi like s*it.
Some way to treat a family member. |
By:
UEFA have that rule for all associations, Sorry to disappoint but the 'football family' is one, i'm sure you'll be gutted to hear.
By:
Not gutted at all. I hope you lads have no games fixed for Friday night and get behind the FAI charity fundraiser in Citywest.

Hard to see anything but a tight battle in Ballybofey. Donegal rarely cut loose in the first half last season:
v Tyrone - down by 1pt v Down - up by 1 v Kerry - up by 2 v Cork - up by 1 The early goals against Mayo in the final were a rarity. I will have a small bet on HT draw - 6/1 currently but will check on here nearer the time (can't remember if they even do a HT market) |
By:
Outright market interesting Donegal drifting to 6/1 ...cork 7/1 with pps...Dublin short enough at 5/2...is there a darkhorse out there??..the winner of Down & derry if you can split them the only possibility?
By:
Donegal too big, Dublin 5/2

timber i can tell ye with a certain degree of confidence mate that down will not be threatening croke park this year.....simply havent got the personnel..........

As in all sports drug testing should take place on ALL teams, show up the cheats and bring back a level playing field. Otherwise its no better than the eurovision. If the game is clean no one has anything to worry about.
By:
drug testing takes place randomly after every inter county match..
By:
lol The above sums up Kavvie
![]() |
By:
what part of it sums me up? .does it not happen?..is the statement wrong in any way?hard on amateur players representing their countys and communitys for the love of it.but its a good thing overall.
