nichols canyon 3/1 in de 4.15 newbury,...'..none of dis just followin certain sires runnerz and magically trading out of dem at 1.3 wen der beaten on dis tred.,,..oh no.,...not up in here!

Buick who is a brilliant jockey would get no medals for his ride there. The guy presenting on RUK seemed to think that the trip was on the short side. He just started to niggle 3f down but came back on the bridle about a furlong later,and he wasnt as urgent as he should have been for about 100 yards or so. He also seemed unable to change his whip when the horse veered across the track. All in all he was a desperately unlucky loser.

winner was a montjeu, how many derby winners has that produced, plus the fact was getting 13 lbs in weight.
Nichols canyon RPR 90 prairie ranger RPR 85, at the weights had the edge. by 8 lbs,and money came for it. |
