Shocked at the crowd of just over 4,000 for a home final that's very poor, we had over 4,200 last week v Derry in a league match Huddys. Reverted to type again tonight .... 4..5..1..what a fooking waste ....Pats had the best chances ...Overall a poor game , Delighted to come away with a draw having lost both full backs ..We had to play the last 15 mins with 10 men after using all our subs , then our full back had to go off ..WHATEVER WAY rovers are been trained it seems to be leading to a massive amount of hamstrings been pulled ....Its worth having a look at , a big worry that every week we're ending with players pulling up with hamstring injuries ....

Watched the Rovers game on TV last night and quite enjoyed it .Rovers were at least moving the ball forward unlike when they played Cork in the Setanta Cup but there is something not right. Is Trevor Crolly just too nice a guy to manage a team?. You need a ruthless streak which he doesn't seem to have. Playing McCabe as against Rice doesn't make any sense. Ronan Finn is one of the best players in the league and any time i've seen him this season he's been anonymous. But to take the lead with 6 minutes to go through a dodgy penalty and still not gets the points against Bohs-who are not much better than Dave Mulcahy and a bunch of schoolboys-is incredible.

This is simply mind numbing rubbish been fobbed off on ROVERS fans as football ..I thought we couldn't have got any worse after last friday , but my God how wrong can you be ....I find it hard to explain what tactics we are supposed to be playing ..Trevor is the only one who seems to know whats expected of his players ....I am not surprised the crowd was tiny ...More of this rubbish and they can close the doors , Nobody , and  i mean nobody , should have to suffer what we have had to this season...Dundalk much the better team ...They also played the better football , the only saving grace was , the goal was brilliant and deserved to win the game ...Otherwise i'm afraid , drab drab drab....

Thought it was ok stuff yesterday, but in terms of passion, intesity, skill, atmosphere and entertainment neither game had a patch on the league of Ireland game from Friday night between Shams and Bohs, that's fact.

Different game Gant, as well Wonky and Fudmuncher said he was boycotting the matches because they drew v Bohs. These guys are what i call fans glory hunters and tbf no sport has them more than the bogball as some people call it.

The bogball/stickfighting as you call it is on the up and don't know you lads exist.
Get your own house in order before you attack others..........the noboby likes us we don't care attitude doesn't cut the mustard anymore.

Calling bogball is not an attack, get real will you and don't be so defensive. Gaelic is bigger in the rural areas like Meath that's why people call it bogball. Anyway it suits the sport.

For me it's the best football i seen you played in seasons. Under O'Neill it was kick and rush stuff, Kenny he tried to play some ball on the ground but the fans hated it, then now Croly playing with a great formation and again the fans don't like the short passing kick it long is the cry in Tallaght.

A HOOLIGAN element within the supporters of Shamrock Rovers football club are alleged to have attacked a man with a beer can while he was at a wake in Dundalk.

Paul McGee (37) was with his wife Dara at the wake of her grandmother Maura Coleman (77) when he says he was struck in the face.

“My nose is broken, I have had six stitches to my face and the doctors think my eye socket is fractured,” Paul said.

“What happened was disgraceful and unreal. The can was smashed into my face without any warning and it was completely unprovoked.”

Mr McGee was with Eddie Coleman, a son of the deceased, when a group of more than 70 Shamrock Rovers fans walked along the road past Mrs Coleman’s house in Pearse Park, Dundalk, on Saturday afternoon before kick-off between the team and Dundalk FC.

“We as a family condemn this violence as we waked my mother. They were throwing cans into the garden as they passed by and I said to them ‘would you show a bit of respect, there is a wake here, maybe take your rubbish with you’,” Mr Coleman said

“Then one of the crowd assaulted Paul with the can and when other family members came outside to see what was happening, the crowd verbally abused them calling them ‘sheep sh*****s’ and ‘**** bags’.

“My mother had seven children and 28 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, so when the children came out they saw this and they were crying. My mother would be horrified at this behaviour,” he added.

He condemned the behaviour from “so-called Shamrock Rovers fans”, adding that he knew there were also decent Shamrock Rovers fans.

“These were the scum of the earth and they weren’t young, they looked to be in their 30s and 40s,” he said

The family wants to know why any football fans were directed into a residential area. “We want answers as to how these rowdy drunken hooligans ended up passing by our vicinity,” Mr Coleman said.

The family has complained to gardai about the incident .

A spokesman for Dundalk gardai confirmed “there was an issue with some Shamrock Rovers supporters who took a wrong turn to the match.

“We are aware an incident occurred in Pearse Park. We were very disappointed to hear something happened at a wake.”

A spokesperson for the club told the Herald that it had not yet been notified of the incident by gardai or Dundalk FC. “Obviously the club don’t condone this kind of behaviour,” she said.

Mrs Coleman will be buried in Dundalk this morning.
