Totally agree Ozy, if Moyes takes charge while i think he's a good manager to follow in those footsteps is way to big an ask.

Presumably there is a market on his successor ?  Do not like the man , but he was successful .

If you get a chance listen to 'United expert' Paddy Crerand's denial of the impending story this morning on the Newstalk website.Poor old Oisin gets a lambasting for suggestion that Sir Alex is going to retire.

always thought sir alex wasn't the most reputable character, the best manager of all time. a determined winner.

Thoughts on this formed during the day .

Assuming Moyes replaces him , a manager without a trophy to his name in 11 years , how does it all pan out ?  Fellow Scot , fellow Glaswegian , very cosy , Alex moves upstairs / over , without any challenge . And Rooney stays , Moyes signed him .

Slightly reminiscent of the post Matt Busby scenario , Frank O'Farrell came in , but Matt still wanted to be in charge .  Didn't work . Never does .

AF is Man U to the rest of the world , presumably had to keep him on board for stock prices etc , but hae me doots about the end game . Will be interesting though , although I am not a big soccer fan .

No interest myself in whether or not Man U prosper  , when sport becomes a business I tend to lose interest in it though , and the business thing  happened a long time ago  , not just in the case of Man U .  All our home nations are falling behind in performance against the rest of the world , cant help feeling that the set up in most of soccer in these isles nowadays is a factor in that .

Crerand certainly does a very good David Andrews in the denial stakes.

Equally good was Dermot Ahern,and the Minister for Snow denying the bailout, when the Troika were in the house.

No doubt but dear old Sir Alex was pushed......
