Well rocket your bubble has been well busted , We were the better team all night long , i dont think ye had a shot on goal the whole night , Apart that is , from the gifted goal ..Ye have gone backwards imo ...In fact we should have won by 2 clear goals ...On that form i cant see ye retaining the title ....Great atmosphere , both sets of supporters in fine voice ..I met Sligored and his father and son , A real nice family...

Are you sure we did not have a shot on goal, not even one????? Laugh

We got a point with 10 men while also finishing any harbouring ambitions you had of taking our trophy good luck in the cup the league is not for you lads !

ELDING WAS RIGHTLY SENT OFF WITH A FEW MINS TO GO ,We have massive injuries this season as well , We've hardly been able to field a team thats not without fringe players ...Have a look at mns and tell me who was the better team ..i'd say derry will have high hopes of tilting that crown of yours....

No need we're the better team Bara said it, when we get all our players we'll be untouchable. You were missing Oman a sub and Quigley tonight, We had 6 out and 10 men and should have won. We've had the worst run of injuies probably ever in the league. Your manager blamed different pitches we went there a week later and won by a few goals, don't be daft saying who the better team is everybody knows that. If you ever make it down to Sligo i'll bu you a pint and you cry into for the afternoon ! Laugh

Great game of football last night, the 3 points were there for the taking, whatever slim chance we had of winning the league is gone now tho,

Agree huddys ...the league is gone alright , its sligos to lose now ..From what i saw last night they're not a great team ,Some smashing defending by them at times , Their players putting their bodies on the line with last ditch tackles when needed , unlike our own defense , we must seem like the most generous club in the league to the opposition , time after time we give away soft goals like last night , comedy gold it was , maybe its time to rest Murphy , EVERY WEEK NOW HES MAKING BLUNDERS WHICH ARE COSTING US BIG TIME...

All joking aside, difficult to know what to make of us but we do have a lot out but we're not playing well. I thought you had to win and with the side we had out i honestly thought you would win, i fear Pats more than Derry at this stage. It will be interesting to see how long Croly gets, 2 wins from opening 11 matches with that squad is pathetic especially with the league as poor as it is this year.

Valid points rocket ,Croly is a coach full stop , as far as i'm concerned there is a massive difference between a manager and a coach , Some will disagree with that statement , A manager is motivational and encourages his team on the field of play ..A coach is a instructor , teaching patterns of play to assist the manager ...That is my take on it ..Croly is without one of the best coaches in Irish football of that i have no doubt ...His leadership qualities as a manager are nonexistent ...We need a manager and let Trevor get back to what he does best Coaching...

We were awesome today, first time we've played all year bar actually Derry in the Brandywell maybe on opening day, 3-0 nad 4 or 5 would not have flattered us. Great to watch in front of nearly 4.3k.

Rocket,

I am told by a Sligo Rovers man that rarely punts but equally rarely misses a match, that they will play Bray off the park tonight. Elding back tonight makes a huge difference also.

He is recommending bets on 3-4 goal winning margins.

I must confess to having very limited knowledge of the current state of play regarding them although the last display could signal an upturn in their form.

Any thoughts?

Well DV we should win but i think Bray are a bit of value on the handicaps from my calculations but i ain't betting them because we were so good on Monday v Derry. We could win by a few goals although that may be a bit disrespectful to Bray, but one week ago he'd probably be telling you to have your money on Bray +1.5 as we were playing poorly. For me the goals is the better bet in the match, i think Bray capable of scoring and if they do the overs should hit and if not there is still a chance if we play like Monday last we could get it on our own. But don't let me put you off the other bet but that's just how i see it.

I was at the showgrounds on Monday and despite Derry's excellent start to the season they were very well beaten by the best side in the league.

Most Derry fans went down there with the hope that we could mount a title challenge this season. However Monday showed there is a big gulf in quality between Sligo and ourselves.

As regards tonight DV away to Bray that's not a bet I'd take on anyways but gl if you play.

I generally don't bet in games that I know little about and the prices -etc are all a function of the 2/7 winning price. I assume they may have been something like 4/9 or 1/2 for this before their most recent display got the fans excited again?

I am sitting it out as it and thanks for replies.

that was some night in the League alright. Derry lose 4-2 at home to the Students, letting three in the last 10 minutes. The Champions draw a blank at Bray. and Dundalk get a late winner to beat Shels Tongue Out

Good stuff by Rocket and Monte Christo.

Not to even get a win in Bray must be very disappointing although results went Sligo's way.
