There was a huge charitable donation made to two jockeys of the same name at Punchestown.
Having tasted success expect more punts from this source until the inevitable fall.

The connection is a hostage with a fortune.

They certainly knew what they were doing putting David Thomas on their gamble in the Punchestown charity race.

He looked polished and  even though his mount Supreme Bailerina beat the gambled on stable mate Bedrock Lady doubt if there was anyone punting from Australia.

The Punchestown festival has ended with a charity race for a good few years now,the riders get sponsorship and are usually just enthusiastic amateurs.

Rockyaboya was entered from the Willie Mullins stable with to most the unknown David Thomas in the saddle,he had however ridden a winner previously and whilst not against the rules kind of against the spirit of it.

Rockyaboya  was around 3/1 the night before but was punted for stuff( there was even a market on it here) need dj876 for turnover figures,I think he finished around evens but if ever the prescience of planning was needed it was here as he needed every bit of David Thomas experience to land the gamble and fair to say he would have won on any of the first three.

I didn't think jockeys are allowed to punt.
I am sure the runner up's jockey would have got a bonus if prevailing.

Betfair normally do markets on Charity races so there probably was a market on here but it's not showing up on Timeform or on Betfair's database, but considering it was a morning gamble there was hardly any liquidity on here.

An incorrect assumption referring to the jockey on the runner up

The inevitable fall occurred on Thursday in Thurles.

Mikael DHaguenet looked odds on material and was Wednesday night, two horses are withdrawn and then the drift started.
Events were complicated by Betfair going down during the race, all the action was on the purple.

I was a in Thurles and noted with incredulity the drift on Mikael DHaguenet,he went from evens out to 7/4 with the bookies,I didnt see the exchange moves but apparently it was stark and amateurish, chunks appeared to lay at around 2.8 ( around four grand ) this was moved all the way out to around 3.5,the laying continued after the off.

Cold caught and could be the end of a promising gambling career.
