I know Ivor is no angel -but of a certainty he wasn't the only one involved in sharp expenses practice.
Plus ,people will still be irked that the bigshot bankruptees are living their life of barely reduced luxury . It's a running sore on the popular psyche that Fingleton and F'patrick and others are not doing the perp walk. |

Why is it called free legal aid, is there legal aid you can pay for?
It is similar to referring to someone as a qualified vet, I don't think you can get an unqualified one |

Lives on Lawrence Rd Clontarf according to the INDO .....will he be applying for legal aid in this case.......... AHHHHHH NOT TODAY
Former Minister of State Ivor Callely is to go on trial accused of making false mobile phone expense claims while a senator. A book of evidence was served on him in court today. Ivor Callely stood throughout his brief appearance in the District court this morning. Det Adrian Kelly of the Garda Bureau of Fraud Investigation told the judge that the book of evidence against Mr Callely was ready and it was served on him. Mr Callely is charged with six counts under the Theft and Fraud Offences Act. It is alleged that between November 2007 and December 2009, when he was a Fianna Fáil senator, he made false mobile phone expense claims at Leinster House. Judge Ann Ryan asked if the 54-year-old would be applying for legal aid. His barrister replied "NOT TODAY". Judge Ryan then sent him forward for trial in the Circuit Criminal Court. Mr. Callely was remanded on bail on his own bond of €250. He must appear in the Circuit Criminal Court on the 15th May. The offences carry a maximum sentence of up to 10 years and or a fine. |

I wonder whether the Gardai called out to his declared principal private residence in Cork, before finding him in Clontarf.
