It's a magnificent language but when a comedian dissects it it can be very funny.
The first to do it that I recall was the great Dave Allen,any younger forumites that haven't heard him look him up you will be entertained,Ronnie Barker was also brilliant in his discourses on English.
A Dave Allen piece about the sacking in certain professions produced a long list here is an example if a vicar is defrocked should an MP be dismembered.
The famous Ronnie Barker one would be fork handles and four candles along with others.
The modern day comedian owe a lot to Dave Allen who sadly seems largely forgotten.
