Tony McCoy  has only 2 rides on a 7 race card - The Bear Trap and one in the bumper.

His Welsh GN mount Teaforthree is running at Haydock in the GN trial so must  fancy this ones chances. Rebecca Curtis trains both.

7/2

Teaforthree not owned by JP tho,so had to go to Ascot really. The bumper is going to be fascinating Captain Cutter (changed from Magniers colous to JPS)trying to concede 9lbs to the exciting 4yo Red Sherlock.

if mccoy is down to 10-4 hes gonna need all his strength for that ride.
he probably found that out the last day on mr watson.

AP
You may have noticed that I do not often get down to 10st 4lb to ride. However, I am going to give it a go to partner The Bear Trap (3.15) at Ascot today. I managed 10st 3lb on Mr Watson at Cheltenham three weeks ago and it was worth it that time. Let’s hope there is a similar outcome here.

I was a bit disappointed that he got beat last time, but that said, I’m happy that there is still improvement in him.

My other ride is in the bumper on Captain Cutter (5.00). This horse won nicely for John Magnier at Ascot and since then has changed owners and now runs for J P McManus. Red Sherlock won by a mile at Towcester and is the one to beat.

I did him last time as well Huddys, thought he should have won also, anyway he got 6lb for it after a further 11lb for his previous win, also a step up in class for him today from 3 to 2.
Like Bourne as well even though he has 21lb more than winning it last year, seems sure to run a decent race at a good price.
Hendersons General Miller has been running well in graded races and has some top class form, could easily turn it into a procession despite his long absence.

General Miller is probably the most interesting runner lapsy with as you say both previous good form and the 18 month absence

Geraghty ATR blog
I kick off with GENERAL MILLER (3.15) in the two mile three furlong Betfair Don’t Settle For Less Handicap Hurdle and I haven’t seen a great deal of him since I was last on him at Ayr back in August 2012.

He ran a solid race that day finishing five lengths second to Overturn and has been dropped 5lb to quite a competitive mark in what looks a tricky enough race.

I don’t see the trip or ground being an issue and I left the decision up to Nicky as to which of his I rode and he put me on The General in preference to his other runner Top Of The Range which is good enough for me.

But I must tress that this is extremely competitive and I’d be wary of The Bear Trap who is clearly improving and it’s a tip in itself that AP is getting down to 10st 4lb to ride him. When he does  that sort of weight his strike rate is pretty good.

Couldn,t read too much into it, still R Curtis has gone to Haydock(albeit one of days biggest races) for her lone runner there.
