Wildman any opinion on a horse called King of Ardcarne? Have a look at it go right back in it's form. Saying that the fav looks very well handicapped in that race.
Report wildmanfromborneo February 13, 2013 11:49 PM GMT
King Of Ardcarne has been racing over hurdles of late but funnily enough his best bit of form is when he was second in a handicap chase at Thurles,he will handle the ground as well.
Would certainly not put you off him as he has a fair chance but my idea of the winner is an old forum favourite Clashnabrook has done us some favours in the past.

The Miceal Fitzgibon Memorial European Breeders Fund Mares Novice Chase is the most valuable race on Thurles' card on Thursday and sees Banjaxed Girl bid to pick up where she left off in 2012.

The former Nigel Twiston-Davies inmate has fared well since transferring to Lady Fowler's yard and won well at Punchestown when last seen in November.

She will have to be on her mettle here, though, as Madam Bovary got her act together over fences at the same track latest, while Avondhu Lady should not be dismissed after her Grade Two fourth at this venue.

The meeting gets under way at 2.20 with the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Beginners Chase and Moiqen could build on a couple of fair fourth-placed efforts over fences.

Dessie Hughes' Chasing Shadows has yet to show a great deal over the larger obstacles but did win over timber at Tramore two starts ago, while Indelible Run makes her chasing debut, having struggled in Listed company over hurdles.

Hughes has strong claims in the Happy St Valentine's Day Handicap Chase with the bottom-weight Wise Oscar.

An easy winner over hurdles most recently, the nine-year-old is comparatively well treated in this sphere and should prove too strong for the likes of Tinakellylad and The Bishop Looney.

Carry Each Other drops markedly in trip for the Devils Bit Beginners Chase, having been well beaten over a marathon distance at Punchestown.

His previous form behind Vesper Bell in similar company to this was very solid, though, and he may be able to open his account at the main expense of Western Man and Mattara.

Hold Em Cowboy appears to have Clashnabrook and Hasty Times to beat to go one better than last time in the Horse And Jockey Handicap Chase, while the Rock Of Cashel Handicap Chase may be between Ponmeword and Letterlee Star.

Workrider slight odds against to race.
Was really miserable there today, lashed all day pitiful crowd and because I was there missed your tip for The bumper winner. You certainly have rounded the corner everything your touching now is winning, long may it last.

One extraordinary aspect of the days racing was watching Denis Hogan saddle his horse Lukes Benefit and then ride another horse Drishogue Lad in the race,I thought that was against the rules it definitely used to be and anyone watching that race would see the value of that old rule.

Outlaw Petes run in the Thyestes was eyecatching, taken off his feet early he made up ground late on and finished full of running. Strictly on a form line through Tarquinius he would have a bit to find with Jolily.
Wise Oscar was very impressive over hurdles lto, looks to be exploiting his chase mark today and is a worthy fav ,possible he is rapidly improving i,m not convinced he will stay as well as Outlaw Pete given the likely conditions(it was only 2fur less at Fairyhouse granted)Outlaw Pete looks an ew bet to me.
Agree Clasnabrooks last run is by far the best form on offer and another one exploiting a chase mark,i,d be a small bit worried with his consistency.
Report Bigwillystyle February 14, 2013 8:56 AM GMT
Stubby that horse is 10 now. Of course if he ran to the form of three or four years ago he would pick these up but a lot of problems and operations since then........

whatever next , another racing thread heading along the right road , well done , keep it going lads...
Report workrider February 14, 2013 9:36 AM GMT
the one i like on the card is , carry each other , its price is very short , but this is a drop in class compered to racing against the likes of vesper bells , i also think the drop in trip will suit , its from a really good stable and has a top pilot on board , so with that factored in , its a bet....good luck all punters....

Re Outlaw Pete.. Lapsy.... im not convinced he did finish The Thyestes all that well. Matt Chapman (god bless him where would we all be without him)made the same point as you on the day but to be fair his jockey seemed to be the only rider of the stragglers that put any effort into riding his horse out at the death giving the impression that he was flying home. Would not want to put you off backing him though as i agree with you on his early jumping. With a slower gallop if he can get into a better rhythm early on could well win again.
Report lapsy pa February 14, 2013 1:21 PM GMT
Like Matt as well Oufie,at least he has a view.Outlaw Pete is strong enough on here which i like to see. Judging by yesterday think there will be a fair few pulling up today particulary later. GL with your bets.

I have to agree with you Workrider on Dr Ben Carson some orator.
One thing all must acknowledge about Obama is he is a brilliant orator and this lad would give him a run for his money in the oratory stakes.
Ireland was famous for its orators down the years but we haven't produced an orator here since James Dillon, its embarrassing watching the current crop reading notes and when you see some real orators like Obama and Carson you realise what you have been missing.
Report workrider February 15, 2013 10:24 AM GMT
i thought obama looked a little lost on that clip tbh , his wife seemed to be more in tune with what carson was saying than him...glad you enjoyed it....
Report wildmanfromborneo February 15, 2013 10:31 AM GMT
It certainly was a riveting speech brilliantly delivered I suppose the fact I agreed with its content is a help but it was witty and funny as well.
Report workrider February 15, 2013 10:35 AM GMT
i loved the bird story , plus his call to be aware of political correctness been a drawback , yes a smashing speech , hopefully others will take it upon themselves to fight this craziness ....
