Lots of short ones today ..........going doing a treble
Morning assembly, solwhit and un about .......should pay just over 3/1
Report workrider January 19, 2013 10:24 AM GMT
no dinglemick , not like last night anyway...Laugh...in fact i'm keeping my powder dry re morning assembly till i get to the track , i really don't  know if it'll act on what will be imo barely raceable ground ....naas and leopardstown are miles apart going wise ...leop drains very well , when the going is heavy at naas its heavy and it takes a real stayer to get home ....so it could turn into a lay for me yet...as scp says it seems like a lesser race than leop , but i'd really have to see how this one goes to post before either backing or laying it ...thanks tony , i hope you also have a happy and prosperous one ....
Report dinglemick January 19, 2013 11:01 AM GMT
Morning assembly drifting alright workrider. 01/
11 and evens in places ... Now .... If it is a complete slog , one that could be worth chancing w/o MA might be that rouge kashile  10/1with ladbrokes  .... He d break your heart this fella in his last few runs but he s dropping back in trip and will go on the ground no matter how bad it is ...... 10/1 w/o MA  each way could be good value
Report Santry January 19, 2013 11:05 AM GMT
Another good days racing spoiled by W.P.Mullins hotpots. However will take him on with Lord Windemere. Aupcharlie had a really hard race at Leopardstown and was put in his place by Lord Windemere over hurdles last season. If 3 miles brings an improvement from Lord Windemere he looks the one to me.
Report workrider January 19, 2013 11:06 AM GMT
solwhit is also a worry imo ...i'd worry about the bounce factor with this fellow plus the possibility of bottoming him out before cheltenham or even the rest of the season...charles will decide though you can be sure of that ...worth watching the betting ....
Report workrider January 19, 2013 11:10 AM GMT
valid points santry , i think of all the hotpots on offer today aupcharlie represents the best chance of winner , i disagree re the hard race , he traveled like he winner for most of that race , till after the last only then was he asked a question ..agree re lord wndermere a real chasing type and as hones as the day is long....
Report p_r_e_m_i_e_r__f_a_n_t_a_s_y January 19, 2013 11:17 AM GMT
I'm very surprised Mullins is still running Aupcharlie today on what will surely be awful ground. I would have thought the Dr PJ Moriarity over 2m 5f would have been the perfect race for him (i know he has Boston Bob too) en route to a crack at the RSA Chase, not sure a possible slog around Naas would be ideal.
Report keen leader January 19, 2013 11:27 AM GMT
i cant get the love affair with morning royalty in the first, he may win, for me he is not a tight jolly. expanding universe is on a par with sizing gold on my bumper ratings and if he had not run at leopardstown would be lining up here as favourite, if you forgive one bad run, then he is a monster price.

my only play is a back of so young. i felt that solwhit was out on his feet at the conclusion at punchestown, and unless he has lance armstrong powers of recovery he is not likely to run within 20lbs of that effort today, and running to 120, will not win this even getting 7lbs from so young.

Agree Premier re Aupcharlie .............. If you look at Solwhits race the last day i thought he was really finishing his race well and if anything i think he will come on for it , was strong in the market also which would suggest he was showing signs of his old self at home ........No ground worries today either . I d be disapointed if  So Young who i think has regressed this season would beat him today

Good thread, trying to make a bit of sense out of the bumper,Wedding Present under a fairly hard ride made Meades horse pull out all the stops lto.Giantofaman stayed on again after looking likely to be swamped turning in.Super mix's last run didn't impress me to much didnt have anything left to offer in the latter stages.Lots of memories ought to fun his race, fact he was taken to Don royal last time ouldn't be a plus imo.Nearly Nammad was beaten easily by Byerly Babe.
5/2 looks a fair price on Wedding present on the way he stayed on at Leopardstown,GL with yours

Report silvergreaser January 19, 2013 12:17 PM GMT
Santry there are 4 odds on shots on the card only 2 are trained by Mullins
Report Santry January 19, 2013 12:30 PM GMT
Your stating the obvious SG but my point really is that the 2 graded races on the card contain WPM hotpots and heavily odds on at that and this really has become very prevalent this season.
Report ilikewavingatbuses January 19, 2013 12:35 PM GMT
rory o moore?

i wouldnt fancy him only he appears to have a liking for the track. better chance than his odds would suggest i reckon although god knows how good the fav is.
Report silvergreaser January 19, 2013 12:37 PM GMT
Oh I agree santry many 7 race cards could have up to 5 Mullins hot shots (mostly french bred) either odds on or borderline odds on, if like me, you like to search for a little value the presence of the Mullins hot pots does temper enthusiasm.

betting on the outsiders in the 2:10 beggared belief
Report Cupwinkcook January 19, 2013 8:45 PM GMT
Just to re-visit the 2:10
Once Lord Windemere was taken out, Aupcharlie came back to 1.5 with Tofino Bay trading around 3.8, finishing up at 3.5.

The outsiders flipflopped with Flamenco Prince coming in from 1000 to 40, was laid for loads and then went into 28 before the off. The place price was slower to move but eventually went from 34 to 12. Both Aupcharlie (1.11 to 1.22) and Tofino Bay (1.23 to 1.33, back to 1.28) were weak on the place market.

One cool shabra drifted from 28 to 50 in the win market, but there was plenty to lay on the place from 4.4 to 5.

Shabra Charity went from 100 to 220 on the win market and was friendless on the place market yet finished on the same price as Flamenco Prince(12) despite being 8 times bigger on the win market.

Fellas on the Racing Forum talking about laying Flamenco Prince for 20K banks at 40 and less for free money.

Remarkable trading, did someone get it badly wrong?

Racecourse sps and early prices irrelavant as no value for the outsiders.
Report pa lapsy January 19, 2013 9:19 PM GMT
Agree Cupwinkcook,in the other place fair sums for there(might be a reflection from on here)to lay at mostly 4.6,bit surprised love the stable and doubt it was anything untoward.Ran well and not far off a place after mistake at the last and Lynch not letting him really out.
