I don't think you understand how betting works, just because you propose a bet doesn't mean it has to be accepted it only becomes a bet when someone agrees.
Tony is a patently decent poster and should not have to put up with your foul mouthed rants.

Kingrat apart from being a foul mouthed vulgarian is also a pathetic judge of the market, his childlike demands that someone not alone had to cover a certain stake but had to take the ridiculous odds of evens, the horse is now headed out to 3/1 which is the price the brave Limestone Lad was prepared to accept and he did something else that was unusual he showed he was prepared to deal in real money.
Some Article came up against Un Atout on his hurdling debut and just had a look, prior to that he won the Goffs bumper at Punchestown with Curley Bill in his wake, whereas Curley Bill had to go to Downpatrick to win his bumper where he beat the worse than useless Bally Longford.i think Some Article is a right bet today.
Two races today are ruined for me by Willie Mullins running two in them, both five horse races and both will be determined after discussions over a very large lunch.

I've an idea Tony how about the usual suspects ignore each other?, most derogatory posts are usually bait, but they can't help themselves they have to bite.

It's all about opinions you don't have to agree with each other but it's simple enough to disagree and be civil at the same time, but most threads usually just degenerate into the same old tit for tat, the original subject matter usually drowned in a sea of inanities.

The much maligned Philip Rothwell probably unlucky to have not bagged an early double the outsider Current recession looked to be going equally as good as the winner before crashing at 2nd last?.

Report Bigwillystyle January 12, 2013 4:45 PM GMT
Silvergeaser Rothwell is hopeless. Ruined current Recession. A promising horse who won a bumper. Half brother to Weapons Amnesty. If a decent trainer had him he would be a 120 plus rated horse. Could be a decent buy for somebody still if they have not soured it too much.
Runs d crap out of his horses and will pick up d odd winner but he is a very poor trainer.
Report silvergreaser January 12, 2013 5:58 PM GMT
Wasn't it Paddy Mullins who introduced interval training for horses to Ireland?, you know the one where humans use to run hard from a to b and then walk back to the start and run hard again?.

Arklearkles post is disappointing as I cannot recall him ever creating a thread here,Kavvies even more so as he is in the thick of every row, what happened here was straight forward Tony was attacked and some defended him, however we learnt plenty from the episode with the help of the excellent Limestone Lad and it was fascinating watching an early market trying to adjust to an unknown large request.

Report silvergreaser January 12, 2013 7:27 PM GMT
Champagene Fever ran a stinker too or was he just beaten fair and square, found to be post race sick too, yet probably remarkably fit the morning of the race. Nothing ever surfaces before the race?

There is a certain amount of cry wolf syndrome, what do you believe?
Report workrider January 12, 2013 7:31 PM GMT
i'll hold my opinion of that race awhile longer silver , i was amazed to see champagene fever finish so strongly having looked legless and dropping back to forth , only for him to get a second wind and regain 3 spot ..strange...
Report silvergreaser January 12, 2013 7:44 PM GMT
You know what I mean workrider, nobody notices anything wrong saddling the horse, or walking around the parade ring etc, but when a hot fav with a reputation gets beat how many times have they produced excuses?, fine not every illness can be seen with the naked eye, but excuses are forwarded almost confetti like, forgive me for been a little pessimistic, this game has thought me huge lessons on pessimism!.
Report workrider January 12, 2013 7:52 PM GMT
in fairness  silvergreaser , he was examined by the vet , and found to be post race abnormal.....so no blame attached to anyone....its like me at the minute , its our wedding anniversary and we are heading out to dinner soon ..i know i have a touch of flu , she doesn't ...well thats my excuse anyway  Laugh...all the best talk tomorrow....
Report silvergreaser January 12, 2013 7:56 PM GMT
Vets, are these the same guys who work for them and make a living off them. I'll take their diagnoses with a pinch of salt thank you.

Nicky Henderson had a vet who advised him don't you know?
Report workrider January 12, 2013 7:59 PM GMT
the vet who examined him would be the course vet ..therefore an independent observer...
Report silvergreaser January 12, 2013 8:05 PM GMT
independent?, but what does he do when he's off duty?, back to doing what he normally does making a living off horse trainers.

Sounds like a vested interest to me don't you think workrider?
Report workrider January 12, 2013 8:08 PM GMT
in this case no silvergreaser....
Report silvergreaser January 12, 2013 8:13 PM GMT
Isn't horse racing all tied in together workrider, every vet knows each other who knows every trainer who knows every amateur steward who has been breeding and selling these horse to owners who put them in training.

So vet, steward, owner, trainer and jockey all have one thing in common, the success of the horse, bred by the steward, bought by the owner, looked after by the vet, trained by the trainer and ridden by the jockey, go figure?
Report workrider January 12, 2013 8:15 PM GMT
i take your point silvergreasr ....but this horse was heavily punted by the right people ..who got stung for a change ...
Report wildmanfromborneo January 12, 2013 8:18 PM GMT
I think Workriders point about Champagne Fever staying on again is relevant as I don't think he appreciated being taken on for the lead,I actually think Minsk and Champagne Fever cut their own throats.
Report silvergreaser January 12, 2013 8:21 PM GMT
I wasn't talking about this horse in particular workrider, just a generalisation, it's a cozy world out there, and thats the way they want it to stay.
Report Bigwillystyle January 12, 2013 8:27 PM GMT
Imo there has always been question marks about champagne Fevers attitude.  He carries his head very high.  He was beaten after three hurdles in Naas. Never travelling.  Ruby let him coast from second last and then gave him a squeeze after the last and passed De Bromheads horse(Probably didnt get home) again on the run in.
Report silvergreaser January 12, 2013 8:35 PM GMT
Bigwill I had my doubts about this horse when it went off at 16/1 for the festival, won well, but must have been a little unexpected or it wouldn't have went off at that price suggests it wasn't exactly catching pigeons?

Horse gets beat, instant excuse?

Silvergreaser Champagne Fever was always considered Mullins best bumper horse as far as i know.  Reason he went off at the price he did was down to the ground.  Trainer did not want to run the horse but the owner insisted he run.  I went to view the horse before he won his p2p with a guy who was trying to buy him but offer wasnt enough.  I think horse has problem with his back if you want my expert opinionLaugh
