They had two enhanced doubles yesterday which were flashing up on their screens
Sound Investment and Breakheart. 5/1
Sound Investment and Ruby Walsh only other mount in the 2.10. 11/4
The actual SP double was 8/1 or so in the first instance and 4/1 in the second case,makes you think they might not know the meaning of the word enhanced.
Incredibly a friend of mine with some drink taken availed of both doubles,had a hundred quid on each and despite of his stupidity got one of his bets up but they only paid him the 11/4 in these days of BOG I thought they would pay him the SP double,there is not a fortune involved but is there any point in him bringing this further.

The bets were both struck at 1.04 when by Ladcrooks own prices the doubles were a Sonny Molloy type rob.
You should have a word with your friend who had enough "drink taken" at 1.04 to think that these were good bets! And it's not his gambling I'd be worried about TBH.
That's a given,but its the prices he got that I found incredible I thought these enhanced doubles and enhanced prices would be bigger at least and not nearly half the price.
This has been flagged up a few times I think and it is sly but you have to have your wits about you as well. Supermarkets have been getting away with this type of thing for years, increasing the price of something for a couple of weeks and then reducing it to a price that is still bigger than the original price, the difference being that they can then legally state that the price is a special offer etc

Funnily enough I think he once worked for them so the irony was not lost on me,what I found incredible was the huge discrepancy in prices.

It's like i said to you in another thread do your homework and you won't be caught out, the odds time sometime like that interests me i simply jot down the prices do the sums and know exactly what i'm getting. The biggest mistake in these type bets is that people instantly think getting above the board prices SP means you're getting/got value, nope does not work like that. Long story short stay away from a double somebody else is picking for you.
He has to get paid,any of these enhanced doubles that pay less i always thought were then settled at sp(used to be the case a few years ago) even though bog only applying to singles now(in most chains now i believe) might have made the staff stick to that rule in this case.
Your friend should take them to court as the "enhanced double" is surely against the trade description act when it isn,t enhanced at all.
For a $130 i would take it further as he is being fobbed off imo.

Rocketfingers your points are general and of course people should check prices that is a given but in this case there was a claim of enhanced prices an entreaty to bet and then a patently wrong price,does the palpable error not work the other way.
I don't mind you skitting me about this because it kind of does look like my bet,it is not my wagers are done here or on the course.

I was looking at the hackets print out yesterday special doubles treble etc and says quite clearly at the bottom if sp greater we pay you, Ladcrroks are out on a limb then on this one virtually all the other firms will pay you sp greater, tell your friend what to do next time walk a few yards to the next shop wildman.
Thanks Silver I think he cashed in the docket anyway but I am surprised and taken aback by the dreadful value he got on the two doubles,is this the norm or was this just a once off.
I think they are good. The coffee and custard creams in there are always A1 to be fair

after that reply from scp....i think wildmanfrombrneo could have got you right , a lesson from a guy with bins but no labels ...if baddies offer free custard creams and coffee ,but give you worse odds than you should get , my advice would be do your fiver double elsewere and drop in to baddies with your extra winnings and leave THEM some custard creams , you'll be able to afford it....
I don't do those enhanced doubles. They are massive mug bets

I think the prices you quote for the individual matches are for the weekend matches.The acca is for the midweek cup matches.
As for enhanced doubles etc. as a rule of thumb only look at them if the multiplied betfair odds are less than the odds offered....which is rare.

If I worked behind that counter, I would pocket the €130 and settle the docket correctly for snaps boss !

i'm sure YOU know all about DOPES.....in fact i'd say you have a degree in STUPIDITY....
Dont go near ladbrookes,my nearest shop dont offer best prices even on singles,because there isnt a shop walking distance from them,use to do the pick 6 bets with them on a sunday and what an problem that use to be,one week you could get the bet on,then the next week they would say they werent sure how to place the bet,now that powers do the tote i havent ever had a problem doing the bets.
