Rugby set up in Ireland is a good model for most countries . Partly due to the success we have had , the crowds keep coming in and the players are well paid , fair play to them , the physical efforts they make over a long season are strenuous . Playing too many games in my opinion , and with international demands as well I am surprised there are not more injuries .
Foreign born nationals will gravitate to where it suits them best to play , with family and other commitments in mind . The South African cricketers have found solace in England , likewise NZ are pretty adept at mopping up the island rugby players . Its the way of the world now , and as long as there is a preponderance of native players I dont mind . Would be worried though if the flow if younger Irish lads dwindled to a trickle . |
