Couldn't bring myself to watch a show that is basically glorifying scumbags, the only good thing about this show I'd say is that it probably keeps these real life scumbags off the street for an hour while they watch their favourite show?.

I would say it is doing the complete opposite of glorifying them myself

I suppose we all love to clobber RTE but you have to say well done with this when they come up with something worth watching, the women in it are mostly Love

Just got into it after all the hype. Good acting on the most part, ok script but a bit embarrassing at times in their efforts to become The Irish Sopranos. No matter what they say this is glorifying the same violence the same people watching it would condemn in real life, there is something very ugly about that fact. The people trying to sell it as 'though provoking education' are the worst of the worst, i wonder hoe they would feel if one of their sons was shot in the face by one of these crimes the likes they are enjoying 'rooting for' in the dramatized version. At least The Sopranos story line and characters had a bit of class. ... As for Darren who just got clipped well thats what he gets for wearing the same jumper for 6 weeks although i must say he kept it remarkably clean even with all them blood splattering murders he committed over them weeks.

TV DRAMA series so can't see any need to get exercised by it,if one of your sons was shot in the face by one of these types you're going to be disturbed by anything resembling it on TV or in the cinema where ever you see it and that's a fact of life.

of course but that does not make it acceptable. In the minds of impressionable youth, uneducated, skint and with little opportunity, this type of drama normalizes such crimes further in Irish society. Elvis too was the devil. Looking forward to the next series.

If you think that the likes of Darren or Nidge represent and portray the lives of real "bogeys" out there then you're in serious trouble irrespective of what you watch on TV.

Exactly Richters, a susceptible Irish public ( 1 million watched last episode ) are now 'rooting' for the lovable criminals against the big bad dozy rapists of the RIRA.  It's the best free state Propaganda they could ever have hoped for. I couldn't believe my ears last week when  the leader of the Irish Labour party(or member ) actually refer to the program saying something along the lines of ' we all know what kind of people they are now thanks to Love/hate' when he was trying to slate Sinn Fein and the republicans of the past.

---------------

I believe it about as much as I do the "Hit Lady" who had to catch a bus (but missed it) to a murder earlier in the series, like who in the name of Jaysus would believe that?Laugh,in a nutshell people were entertained by it no more no less.
