Kerry GAA legend Paidi O'Sé has passed away, aged just 57.
O'Sé won eight senior All-Ireland Football medals in an illustrious playing career and added two more as manager of his native Kerry. He also took Westmeath to a Leinster title.

RIP Paudie. An old fashioned footballer, manager and man. In the best possible way.

Wondered about that , kingell . Maybe its a nod to leaving NI out of the GB thing . Guess 90% of the viewers though never heard of Paidi . Maybe a new entente cordiale . No harm anyway , recognition of a sporting hero in Ireland ( and beyond ) .

you could say so much about Paidi and it still wouldnt do him justice, just a great Irish man. losing the 2002 final to Armagh must have bugged him hugely, i was at that game and think kerry had a 4-point lead at HT. At no stage did i think it was a done deal though

westmeaths winning the Leinster title in 2004 was welcomed by a lot of people all over the country because of their total lack of success up to that point. westmeath people will remember Paidi very fondly

i think he was offered the Wee county job too at one point, he wisely turned it down!
