workrider,
terminal could be the danger ?are you not worried about his debut?..i may follow you what price do you think he,ll be?..my only other fancy is city slicker..good luck
Report workrider December 14, 2012 9:39 PM GMT
tony57 , i backed him the last days , ap made sure he got a good luck at his fences ,  honestly thought he had a big chance after jumping the last , until for some reason ap took him over to the worst ground , were he proceeded to slip ....not worried by willies lad tomorrow , this fellow could end up a cheltenham horse ...i'd take 11/8 6/4 tomorrow....
Report p_r_e_m_i_e_r__f_a_n_t_a_s_y December 14, 2012 9:59 PM GMT
He could well end up a Cheltenham horse but i'd say it would be more likely in the Grand Annual than won of the big novice races so he could be put away most of the winter to ensure a handy mark
Report workrider December 14, 2012 10:04 PM GMT
thats possible premier , but on what he did last year hes no back number and should be good enough tomorrow ...
Report da fallon factor December 14, 2012 10:23 PM GMT
i think you will find Kid Cassidy is the one for this years Grand Annual Wink
Report p_r_e_m_i_e_r__f_a_n_t_a_s_y December 14, 2012 10:33 PM GMT
He's another alright, didn't try a tap last time at Cheltenham and seen as Henderson trains him he will want to lay him out for that race.

Anybody willing to back alderwood tomorrow in a beg. chase at 11/8 or 6/4, either only started following racing in the last couple of weeks or is having a laugh imo
Report workrider December 14, 2012 11:04 PM GMT
is that your own take on the race scp , or did md help you with that....i'm following racing i'd imagine since before you were born , i back what i see on track a lot of the time ...maybe you might enlighten us when your last visit to the  racecourse was...even put up the odd thread of your own ...judge me as you want mate , maybe just maybe i'll have the last laugh tomorrow ....maybe you just might have the grace to inform us kids why we're having a laugh....
Report snap crackle and pop December 14, 2012 11:08 PM GMT
I put up a thread of my own on Gowran just the other day in fact. I called it "Gowran Park tomorrow". And I doubt very much will have the last laugh tomorrow
Report workrider December 14, 2012 11:12 PM GMT
why do you think its only those who fancy alderwood tomorrow are recent converts ...i'm interested why you believe same....
Report workrider December 14, 2012 11:14 PM GMT
oh i see , a friend at work gave you a tip and you wanted advice ..so that's starting a thread is it.....Laugh....
Report snap crackle and pop December 14, 2012 11:19 PM GMT
Yes that is starting a thread, I created it did I not?? You have lost me now!!
Report workrider December 14, 2012 11:26 PM GMT
starting a thread by looking for advice .... slightly different i believe to starting one that gives the ops...opinion on a race and his reasons why he thinks such and such a horse has a chance of winning or losing ..your thread did neither ....so tell me snap ...why do you think only recent converts to racing will back alderwood...
Report snap crackle and pop December 15, 2012 12:00 AM GMT
Yes slightly different to both threads, no harm in asking others opinions though is it?? That is the whole point of a forum is not?? I see no reason why he should finish ahead of darwins fox or terminal, I make it a straight match between that pair
Report keen leader December 15, 2012 3:04 AM GMT
i would be steering away from alderwood workrider, i think he is a spring horse, not one to play in the depths of winter. golanbrook ran a perfectly satisfactory chase debut at thurles and at an each way price is the one which catches my eye. i was down by the last at thurles, and after appearing to blow up turning for home, he ran on again in the final 100 yards, and to me it was a sign to take an interest next time out.
Report Santry December 15, 2012 7:34 AM GMT
I think Alderwood needs better ground. Not saying he wont win but whatever he does tomorrow he will improve on . I was at Navan last day and have little doubt he would have finished 3rd but for slipping up. The race looks pretty open to me with at least 6 horses as possible winners so it will be small stakes.I would not touch Alderwood under 3/1.
Report snap crackle and pop December 15, 2012 12:11 PM GMT
Alderwood 5/2 now! Workrider must think all his Christmas' have come together, seeing as he said he would have backed him at 11/8 or 6/4
Report workrider December 15, 2012 1:31 PM GMT
well done lads...he was not overly hard on him ....waiting for another day i'd imagine ..the betting told a story ....

For a person who claims to go racing a lot, it baffles me how clueless you are!
Report lapsy pa December 15, 2012 2:37 PM GMT
Very harsh SCP,not a very decisive ride and not beaten far.
Report snap crackle and pop December 15, 2012 2:40 PM GMT
How anyone would have even contemplated backing him at 11/8 today is just beyond me pa
Report workrider December 15, 2012 2:43 PM GMT
snap...a lot is beyond you , simple as ...tell you what , why dont you pt up one and see how you go...
Report workrider December 15, 2012 2:46 PM GMT
you , as someone who backed 20 losers on the trot given by that wizard of the turf md....on second thoughts dont bother ....
Report Santry December 15, 2012 2:50 PM GMT
SCP. We all get some right and some wrong .WR puts up opinions . Rather than having a go at him put up your own selections and we'll see how good you are.
Report snap crackle and pop December 15, 2012 2:51 PM GMT
I quite fancy the chances of City Slicker in the bumper workrider. Backed him at 11/10. Not very original I know, but better than backing a 3/1 loser all the same!

Was very impressed with how this horse travelled at Naas the last day. Travelled into the straight like the best horse in the race, but found little when asked for an effort. However, at this time if I am not mistaken all of the Mullins horses were under a bit of a cloud. Would expect this to win today in a particularly poor bumper by Fairyhouse standards, so You might get your Alderwood money back on this imo.

Best of luck.

would you have took 8/11 about this snap....?
Report snap crackle and pop December 15, 2012 4:02 PM GMT
I took 11/10 because I thought it looked value, in a raced that lacked any real strength and depth. Hope you got your Alderwood money back on him workrider
Report Santry December 15, 2012 4:07 PM GMT
Nice one SCP. Looks a decent horse.
Report workrider December 15, 2012 4:08 PM GMT
it was a 8/11 shot imo...nothing in the race , i'm amazed at its price tbh ..the books must be mad ....

workrider,
i thought mullins was the danger went with it in the end ..so both of us were wrong..i carnt belive the crap thats thrown at people on here wr gave a opinion...just cos the horse got beat is no reason to try to have a go..its all about opinions...he thought the horse was value at that price..i have to be honest i thought it was the one to beat...imo i dont think the jock gave it a great ride..seemed to be cruising 3 out he took a pull and it never got back after that..as i said i backed terminal..not Manny of us would of found the winner?
Report workrider December 15, 2012 4:40 PM GMT
thanks tony , i'm shaking in my boots worrying what the pro punter scp is thinking about me....Laugh....not to busy today is right , as i said the betting told a story ...walsh gentle as a kitten , if the handbrake was off it would have won have no doubt....

no mate
i dont mind constructive criticism,..but to have a go just co,s the horse lost is silly..i put up city slicker on debut and today..it was a no brainer imo..didnt look a great race but fair play to scp...but stop the nonsense..by the way crack,n bumper tomorrow wr ..im told the mullins mob rate there horse highly?..i backed champagne james on debut and im sticking with him tomorrow but looks a good card at navan..
Report snap crackle and pop December 15, 2012 4:54 PM GMT
Sorry tony57, what nonsense are you referring to, I pointed out my opinions on Alderwood BEFORE the race! You have lost me here completely!
Report workrider December 15, 2012 4:58 PM GMT
i knew someone had posted about city slicker on debut , sorry tony i thought it was premier...will have a look at that bumper now...
Report tony57 December 15, 2012 5:06 PM GMT
im refering to when you said wr must think he xmas have come all at once co,s the price of alder had gone out from what he thought was value..im not having a go scp,..but as you stated opinions are what its all about wr come unstuck today (happens to us all mate)..i just mean its silly to fall out over what wr thought was value..
Report snap crackle and pop December 15, 2012 5:12 PM GMT
Yes I felt sorry for wr after losing on Alderwood, thats why I tipped him up a winner (my opinion) to get his money back, and not even so much as a "thank you snap, fair play you got my alderwood money back"!! (Not to mention the 2 other winners I gave on here today)
Report workrider December 15, 2012 5:14 PM GMT
if that horse was busy today..11/8 6/4 would be massive value ..the fact it went from 11/8 on here last night , to  an opening show of 9/4 out to 10/30 made it a no bet ...i'm hoping even snap can figure that out.....

Yes I am richters. But tbh most of his naps would be running mid-week on the all weather and I just don't have the time during the week to be punting during the week. He is on a very good run over the last couple of weeks though, had a 12/1 winner last week among others.

Nothing strange about it at all, because as you will know if you had followed him from the outset he tends to go on very extreme hot and cold runs
