where do you think they will finish in the poll? considering the shambolic state of the league last year. I cant see them doing anything in Europe like Bohs or Shams have done in recent years. Sorry to burst your bubble, but the less said about it the better.

Think meself the Rebelettes are a way finer team than rovers.

If this was not a public vote we'd win it Newmanix, i have no doubt about it if it came down to people who knew anything about sport as we won the league on the bridle missing half the team & playing sensational football. League stronger this season no farce teams like Galway in it clubs financially stronger too, big club like Cork back in it. Rte have destroyed this a bit like the Eurovision was destroyed with phone voting, Donegal, Cork massive population centres, Sligo a town of 20k but still reckon top 2 or 3.

Donegal where exceptional all year and different class in my opinion so i'd go for them with McGuinness as manager of the year

Donegal is massive in bogs, mountains, beaches, holiday homes and waterways. Not in (indigenous) population. The census is taken during the peak tourist season, and in our place we had to fill in the census for tourists, including a party of Japanese who were present at that time, so population figures in rural, tourist places are flawed. GL anyway

Sligo Rovers will for sure finish ahead of the Wexford Camogie team and the womens cross country team.

You're right Newmanix those Japs love Rossnowlagh.
Gant but it's a shame you can't have say a panel of 12 or 13 debating this instead of opening it up to who has the most supporters, Donegal GAA team have strong claims but did they win it with style? No, i always like to see champions play with style, i think only one team can lay claim to that, Sligo Rovers. You lads on here might say i'm a bit cocky about it but i can nearly see you all nodding at your screens in agreement with the points i just made. |

Rocketfingers.........Sligo won a 2 horse race after the self confessed favourites would not play for the manager. It's always the same and the big sports will always get the nod.
If the panel consisted of 12 Pat Dolans Sligo would have a great chance. |

Don't start this again gant who is the bigger sport, we all know the answer of the question of soccer v gaelic, don't be daft mate, tbh gant it was hardly even a 2 horse race we ran away with it and the only reason it even got remotely close was to do with our cronic injury list. If it was a proper panel we'd win, the x factor style phone in will see Donegal win with their massive population of supporters. The only chance is if the Irish people remember the poor sporting behaviour of the Donegal team after the final whistle.

All of the nominees deserve recognition . However it will probably boil down to between Donegal , Kilkenny , and Leinster , possibly in that order in my book , Leinster being the least likely even if they might have a good case for winning . Rugby in Ireland has not been as nationwide in media terms since the Munster lobby has diminished ( maybe its all the KEW TOURS not turning up at the races ) .
Good luck to whoever comes out on top ( even if its not one of those 3 , and hell John Hume was a 10/1 shot ) . |

Rocketfingers.......the after the whistle stuff is all in your head...........You whinged they should have clapped the losers up the steps but no medals for losing All Ireland finalists.......only winners.

No i said shook their hands gant and said well played, only Durkan done it, his people are from Sligo though.

gant id say the wexford camogie team drew higher attendances by the "sligo"soccer team?so by that criteria..?
|
|
By:
without a doubt kavvie and 3 in a row too , the soccerball team will be bottom of the pile!

I see gant and his Meath cousins have taken to insulting the champions of a sport none of them know anything about and is not played in your area, actually you know nothing about any other sport by the sounds of things.

Donegal will piss it imo - and rightly so - slaughtered by the media last year but they fairly shut the critics up this year.

Rocketfingers.........Thanks for the clip of the Dublin v Offaly camogie match......much appreciated.

no one think Crossmaglen Rangers should be nominated for this? 2 club all irelands in a row (and currently on course for 3) is pretty incredible, as much as I dont like them
|

They would poll higher than a fair few on the list but it's only fair to give all sports a crack at it.
