Middle class man buys 4 euro bottle of wine gets charged an extra euro for it (25% extra) wealthy man buys 16 euro bottle of wine gets charged an extra euro (6% extra). Yet again another example of how our incompetent ex teachers that are running this country haven't got a scooby doo what they are at.

Fully agree Ace Jack, this lot couldn't run a hen house.
Fine Gail always shoot themselves inda foot.Obviously power goes to their heads, and bluffer Gilmore (Frankfurts way or Labours way), has just stuck his Mrs. into a cushie number with the VEC. This is stroke politics, and then you have a Heath Minster, biggest bluffer of them all.
Fianna Fale has a few teachers also Martin for example, I think.
So noonan and enda will be headin over to Germany now and Angela will be patting them on the heads, and saying " well done boys ye shoved it on to them goodo, stupid Oirish ".
One thing I see happening here is the rise+rise of the Sinn Fein lot, they will be big,big players in the next election, as we say goodbye to the ****cat dolls Noonan, Kenny and Gilmore..............

One gets the impression that if the Government had implemented your carefully thought out and well researched proposals of yesterday you would still be writing the same criticism.
Thanks for the Fianna Fail mentionLaugh

Hilarious they put a euro on wine but a few cents on the real cause of alcoholism: Availability of cheap booze from Supermarkets who can soak the cost up.

One thing that struck me yesterday was the COMPLETE arrogance of the FG TDs. Pierce Doherty (Someone I have no time for) was shouted down on numerous occasions and the CC Sean Barrett is beyond useless (Ming Flanagan has said this as well on the Radio this morning) in being capable of controling them. The camera pans away and there is a pletora of smirks and grins on the faces of them...... Nauseating

Doherty was spot on when he was on the Frontline the other night. To compare the Property Tax in Britain to Ireland is a joke. In Britain, you get NHS, Water, Bins etc for that.....Here you get nothing.

To listen to Noonan last night trying to say FG stood to their promises by not increasing tax was disgusting......PRSI is an insurance tax.

On todays Examiner Paul Mills has a fine open and honest article on the 2012 Budget. Its on page 18, 'Business" and its under the heading 'Unreasonable budget madness needs to stop', and its well worth a read. I hope 69 year old Minister reads it, and gets a grip.Seems for noonan to turn the Revenue on his own people is unbelievable, and seems he is not going to get away with such a horrible act.

Cheer up JTOTD -Country is on long slow road back to economic sanity after Fianna Fáil and their accomplices reduced the economy  to rubble...leaving us with a debt-laden begging bowl and in the epic words of Morgan Kelly 'depending on the kindness of strangers'.
