some good horses out here
12.30 operating ran well lto running a decent sort close if maintaining that form then should go close 1.05 jezki looks to be one of jessie harringtons stars won lto beating ally,cascade..this will be a lot tougher with welds the main danger 3.50 city slicker nap was meant to run last year but never made the track has been the subject of strong whispers for a while..meades has the form tho but has been off a while good luck all |

having a bet on my murphy tomorrow ....teelin star will find these fences tricky ...i'll be hard pressed to make the first couple ..have an appointment at the dentist , ....the dentist told me he did a job on boobys mouth recently , he said booby told him he worked at the circus , the lion used to put HIS HEAD IN BOOBYS MOUTH....

Great card tomorrow but two things of interest for me,Strategic Bid is running in the second race he has absolutely no chance and should be beat at least a furlong but this fellow was third behind Sizing Rio and Cops And Robbers beaten 36 lengths so even a remotely decent effort will encourage the Sizing Rio men.
Willie Mullins seems to be taking on a Noel Meade trained favourite in the bumper,Ned Buntline against City Slicker i will believe it when i see it and if they do take each other on one will be unbacked as notes will have been compared. |

im interested in your point in the bumper..you think one of them will pull out? or one will not be backed if they do run?..why?..i understand what your saying and im not saying your wrong i just want to know why you think that.. |
|
By:
They seem to have some Faustian pact that they never take each other on in bumpers, normally they just dont run against each other but at the last Naas meeting Road To Riches started his career in a winners bumper over two mile three,Mullins ran Great Jones,Road To Riches backed from 6/4 to 4/6 Great Jones 6/4 out to 7/2 and beaten out of sight. They also seem to carve up the bumpers Meade gets a free run up to Christmas then Mullins takes over and wins them all with a host of odds on chances.
Its not an exact science but there is a pretty clear pattern. |

There is I think a gambling connection between the two stables and anytime I mention it I get threats of litigation so have to choose my words carefully.
I also think that if OLeary who doesn't gamble knew the sums being won by laying some of his horses he would be astounded and maybe jealous. |
|
By:
You get threats of litigation as you make statements that you don't seem to have proof off (more your opinion than fact) and if you did threats of litigation would not bother you.
That is how it looks to me anyway, i may be wrong but that's is how i see it from what i've read. |
|
By:
You obviously have never heard of gagging writs.
Surely this is the place for giving your opinion, isint that the point of this place. |
|
By:
Once upon a time I received a letter alleging that. I had libelled Ellen Martin on the betfair forum.
|
|
By:
Wow you can say Ellen Martin without the name being blanked.I wonder do they still delete all references to her within the hour.
|

bloody raining again , it'll be heavy all over by lunch time....
|
|
By:
how bad is the rain ? are you close to the track

Borneo, your next provocative thread title can be 'Faustian pact between Mullins and Meade Stables'
If you were a newspaper, you would be the Daily Star. Your modus operandi is making a controversial statement and presenting it as a fact. Then defending it till everyone else gets bored debating it with you. |
|
By:
In a nutshell....
|
|
By:
All I do is give an opinion, you will notice I use the words"seem to have a Faustian pact" and"it's not an exact science" but it is designed to provoke discussion which is what I thought this place was about. The discussions are not compulsory and can be ignored are you can show me the error of my ways.Thos day last year in the bumper Weld withdrew his horse because he heard late how good Un Atout was,I pointed it out was greeted with derision and was prepared to bet any money that when the Weld horse returned there would be no Mullins horse in opposition there wasn't and when he eventually did win his bumper Mullins ran the worst horse in his stable and he went unbacked.
At least I have made some of you think and tried to alert ye to some betting trends although I accept I am no Keen Leader. This weekend will reveal the merits of my Cops And Robbers post and if I am proved wrong well sure I am used enough to that,I have backed many losers in my time. |
|
By:
I have great respect for any posts from wildmanfromborneo.
He is very clued in, and I understand his above post. Furthermore I seem to agree in total with it. In other words he seems to be spot on. PS...seems =no litigation |

By:
Looks very testing there,a stayers day.I'll follow you in with Jezki Tony, stayed lto well and with the weight concession might see it out better than Hisabaat.GL

Good money all morning each way for David Wachmans Pageboy.......gonna chance a few bob ew on it.
|

There are plenty of facts in racing but unfortunately we can't prove many of them because racings closed shop is almost freemason like, combine this with their real fail safe "horses can't talk", means they can throw threats of litigation around like confetti, fully aware the burden of proof is on you.
|
|
By:
Still silvergreaser you can't beat a bit of auld racing gossip in the pub and pick out the bits that suit.

I also think that if OLeary who doesn't gamble knew the sums being won by laying some of his horses he would be astounded and maybe jealous.
For a start his huge net worth precludes any such sentiment, and it certainly wouldn't be his style anyway. Secondly if there was any messing about with any of his horses in terms of horses being pulled deliberately or gambled at somebody else's behest without his knowledge, he would immediately end the relationship with the trainer. |
|
By:
very interesting post there wildman,..ive never herd that before or even noticed it tbh..as never noticeing what you say i find it intriging tbh..im not saying your right,..but also not that your wrong..food for thought..we,ll see later..ive hammerd this mullins horse as ive had a word for it a while ago..apparently the trainer is worried the ground may be to heavy for it..but its suppose to be decent so we,ll see...thanks for the answer wildman..good luck.....
welldone pa..won with his head in his chest..i think he needs this ground tho..but will win a grade 1 sometime this year imo |

Cheers tony and well done yourself,he was impressive alright, conditions were all against Hisaabaat(2.1-5.0 on exchanges),lot of tired horses today.
Don,t know about the bumper, your one was an expensive buy alright,Jetki franked the fav,s form.threw a few euro on King William at 70+ for a small interest in it. |

His retained rider's brother in law is one of the biggest punters in the country. |

|
|
By:
the horse to take out of naas today ..is my murphy ...note to stewards , he had a lovely gallop today which should have done his confidence the world of good ...
|
|
By:
I didn't see the bumper or the betting but it's hardly the surprise money came for Meades in the bumper, he was only collared late on at Leopardstown by Jezki and he looked pretty useless in bolting up in the grade 3 today.
Surely he should have been a strong favourite against the unraced Mullins horse? |
