It was Wylies lucky day when Howard Johnson got that four year ban although Wylie did have the good sense to send his horses to good trainers.Willie Mullins has won with nearly every horse that he has run for him,Paul Nicholls getting in on the act today. He must be some dropper as Ruby went to Wetherby to ride Tidal Bay whilst leaving Daryl Jacob to win the two big races in Down Royal,I would say Wylie doesn't know himself.

Becoming a bit of joke how poor we are at Down Royal, can never hold on to the big prizes

That's a given, the good dropper bit is half skitting although I was surprised Ruby didn't go for the bigger prize money in Down Royal.Same would have applied to yesterday although maybe he was remembering the injury he picked up there.

Would agree that he went to ride Silviniaco. In addition he was not to know that Sizing would be a non runner.

How are ya WR,hope you enjoyed your day there, did it rain overnight that Sizing was taken out?
Disappointing Kauto stone won alright in the sense Clive Smith didn,t seem to hold him in very high regard.Quito despite a lay off was well beat.Agree doesn,t look good with the 3m.

Silvi..Impressive today but not sure Cheltenham will suit him,See him more a flat track horse ie Aintree and Kempton.Grans Crus had too much pace for him in the Feltham last year, very hot race this year-Silvi,Grans Crus,Long Run,Riverside Theatre and maybe Finians Rainbow,Sir des Champs and Sizing Europe.

Ireland's 3m chasers-we have 4 of the first 6 in the betting for the gold cup, could be a vintage season

Surely the Grade 1 status at Down Royal has to go. Gaff track to boot. Sums up Irish racing having this place host a Grade 1

yes, diamond, they should switch it to towcester and let them race for £5,000, although that IS a lot for towcester...

Nothing wrong with Down Royal its not a gaff track, I always enjoy going there.

i agree the gotchee , i was there yesterday a fine crowd turned up ,why shouldn't they have a grade 1 race up there , its not the best for viewing i agree , but a good test of a horse ...they try hard to get things right , improvements have been made over the years , even yesterday they unveiled a new winners enclosure ...a track trying its best under difficult circumstances ....
