a nice little 5 f listed stakes with a few interesting runners from england notably multiple winners borderlescott who has amassed near 800k in prizemoney and kingsgate native.
but the nap vote goes to the 6yo ballydoyle inmate STARSPANGLEDBANNER......the eye catching form is the 2nd behind last weeks ascot winner maarek at the curragh on ground that is far from ideal....interesting to see o brien enter him at dundalk were the surface should be ideal.....i think he should have the early speed to overcome the wide draw and if he repeats that run at the curragh i expect this former star to return to winning ways en route to a tilt at the breeders cup.....i will be backing him ew at odds of 7/2.....

i fully agree richters , and have backed it already ... i think if anyway near right its a shew in....top class group winner , returning from stud were he would have been let down ..no pun intended ....obrien still had him in the breeders cup  so thinks the horse is on the way back ...the other runners are really not up to his high standard ....draw only worry..but if he gets out , it should be over before the turn in...good luck ..off for a wee nap before heading to sligo ..i shall revile once and for all to you that rocket IS A SLIGOMAN...Laugh

All the fancied horses are drawn outside - it is so hard win from out there over 5f. Of those drawn 1 - 6 the shortest priced runner is 10/1, there are two 2yos in that 6. There is also an 87 rated in the 6. Katla seems optimum over 6f rather than the 5f. That pretty much leaves Borderlescott and Roiced.

Roiced thrives on a sound surface and with the stable runners maintaining the form he could be worth a poke at 28/1 EW?

Nice race, Will give Kingsgate native another chance, best drawn of the fancied runners and as a group one winner and really should have one a group three 2 runs back, I like his price at 7.4 here, will need luck as comes late but that can be said about a lot of them.

Very open looking race - most look to have a chance.Katla has the plum draw ,beat Maarek lto at the Curragh by 1l has Heffernan up again.

2 runs at the course - last Aug over 6f finished last of 14(drawn high) and last March was 2nd in a 5 runner race over 5f & had Balmont Mast behind

All 4 career wins have been over 6f but wiil have a punt at the price

Having a bet also on the ex R Fahy Lilys Angel in the first. Again plum draw but first run on an artifical surface

Gl with ur bets

A very nice race to av on a Friday night

A lot of ifs ands and buts around those at the top of the market imo

Kingsgate Native and Starspangled Banner would lift and carry these if back to their best - both have it to prove after poor runs last time tho even though the ground would have been the major factor in both and, first run for both on the AW so will b interestin to see. Draws not ideal either especially SSB

Balmont Mast - my arch enemy, undoubtedly talent but also not without his quirks, think he may prefer 6f and is prob short enough around 5s with a wide draw to overcome

Nocturnal Affair - well held behind Balmont Mast lto and drawn wide but was nt given the best ride and should b there abouts again

Borderlescott - 10yo now, a CD winner here 4 years ago - been a great servant to the stable, always runs his race but would be slightly disappointed if he was good enough to win here

Nero Emperor - must b of interest after his 6l demolition of a field here last year but has been off the track for 12 months and that race has worked out very poorly with all of them 70 odd horses and nothing behind has won since, wont get all his own way in front here either

Katla - Well beaten when last here is August but bounced back to form last time when beating subsequent Group 1 winner Maarek, plum draw in 1 but could find things happenin a bit too quick here early over 5f to make use of that good draw

Now to my own personal fancy - Zoola who will be largely overlooked due to the trainer

A very impressive winner fto on lightning fast ground at Tipperary in what was nt the strongest race but the 2nd is still rated 76

Next 2 runs were on bottomless ground which i dont think suited as well as fast was 3rd to Parliment Square beaten 2l and he went on to finish 1l 3rd in the G1 Prix Morny behind Reckless Abandon

Last time at Ayr was 2nd once more in heavy ground behing Garswood in a Listed race, he went onto be a very unlucky 2nd at Ascot in a G3 when he was slow away and beaten just a hd

Unproven on the All weather but i think it will suit much more than the bottomless ground she has been running in with credit, has a good draw to work from in 4 and can race prominently which should guarantee her a nice position around

Gets all the allowances here and races off just 8st 4lbs compared to all the other fancied runners off 9-11

Think this is the value in the race at 14/1 ew and will play w/p on here also as i thik it will be massively overlooked too

1. Zoola
2. Kingsgate Native
3. Balmont Mast

If only it was that easy Cool gl with ur bets

Didn't Kingsgate Native win the 5f dash at Ascot 2007 at 33/1 for John Best?

Never thought I'd see him hacking around the unique delights of Dundalk...
