Jockeys get unwarranted criticism here and generally have a hard life,I watched the unfortunate Andrew Lynch ride Sizing Europe to victory on his first ride back after months on the sideline with a broken leg and was delighted for him. This was not the Andrew Lynch of old,he looked like a gentleman rider of old,it took him ages to get hold of his whip and his left arm was sticking out,it would appear to me this poor man was barely fit. This is not a criticism but just a further demonstration of the bravery of these jockeys,I have no doubt Lynch will be back to his brilliant best shortly but would ask you jockey haters to consider the suffering this man went through these past months when next you feel the need to blame all your woes on some jockey.

You make valid points but if he was not fit he should not have been on the horse.

He won and got away with it but it is no different to the idiotic decision to play a class player like Alan Brogan who was barely fit (if at all fit) against Mayo. The class of the horse made sure it was not a costly decision and Lynch may be brave or stupid, but it was not the correct decision.

A lot would see that as being greedy, mad for the money even with his leg hanging off.

Great to see Andrew Lynch and indeed Sizing Europe back with a good win. Thought Andrew was riding very long and the horse was never asked to attack his fences . However got the job done.

Rocketfingers you alone would think it is about money.
He passed the doctor how I don't know but it is only human nature to want to return as soon as possible.
I also find it strange that no one else seems to have commented on his standard of riding.

they all need time after injury to get back to full confidence.

andrew lynch is in my view the most trustworthy jockey in the country, may not be the best or the most stylish, but if you put him up on a trier, you get an honest effort from the saddle. this statement is obviously "loaded".

The statement may be loaded but it's true.
Andrew Lynch was the most improved rider last year and I hope he quickly regains full fitness and re establishes himself at the top.
A general point I was making was the speed in which people are forgotten and the reason I feel no jump jockey should ever receive a ban.

In all sports there must be rules.

wildman , i was thinking along those lines while watching the race yesterday....but for the life of me could not pin point what it was about him....well spotted ...

Chairman wildman exempts one  from criticism in his usual condescending manner, and then wr applauds him for spotting, that a jockey just back from breaking his leg, doesn't look the sharpest!!

dj876, i simply stated that i felt something was not quite right about andrew yesterday....i was unsure what ....i had forgotten the lad had just come back from injury ...he kept trying to get his whip into his left hand and it was taking him ages , i normally spot these things , but yesterday for some reason i didn't ...wildman pointed this out , simple , i dont think wildman needs my approval ....i bow to your superior  wisdom though ..please forgive me for agreeing with another formite....
