The ground has been very testing on both her starts but given that she's by Oratorio she can probably improve with another year. She was impressive today.
However what's the story here...
"I knew she was a very good filly. She was working at home with horses and beating the hell out of them. Horses rated 80 and 90 couldn't get near her. Ian kep telling me she's one of the best two-year-old's he has ever sat on. She won a schooling race at Dundalk for us. I wasn't sure about the slow ground with her. I don't know where I'll go now. She looks fairly classy and we'll try and get black type". Adrian McGuinness, trainer after her win at Naas in July where she bolts up at 33/1.
Still in the same colours today but with a different stable...
“I got a phone call to train her and only have her a few months. It’s tough on Ado (McGuinness) as he did a good job and deserves most of the credit." Eddie Lynam, new trainer.
Now someone just picks up the phone and rings Eddie and asks him to train a horse that has won well for previous stable.... I'd say there's more to this than meets the eye....

there are 2 stories doing the rounds as to the change of trainer. I understand the more truthful version is the horse got ring worm just after winning for Ado. The owner was unhappy with this and switched trainer.
She also turned down something in the region of 350k for it after its debut win. |

Very rough to take a horse off a fella because she got ringworm. Very tough on a small trainer like Ado, he's unlikely to get one as good again. Nice for him to win a big today as compensation.

Thanks BR, don't doubt this for a minute... but surely any horse in any yard could pick up ringworm?
William Haggis remarked yesterday that he will usually just rough off (for the season) a horse in his yard that picks up ringworm. |

I wouldn't be too sure about Lynams capabilities to improve this filly. Probably the best 2 year old we have seen in Ireland this year.

no bar room talk from this quarter The Gotchee - you are misunderstanding what I am saying - the difference between what I said and what the absolute truth is are the owners intentions.
I think the owner figured they wanted what they thought to be a big trainer for the filly when she showed the promise she did and Ado didn't fit the bill |

Ringworm........The oldest excuse in the world to move a horse........most trainers would never tell the owners.....bull I reckon.
The horse wasn't moved too far down the road......a new owner probably liked the look of a fancy training yard as to Ado's. Owners like that will sell for sure.........Godolphin calling. |

Well, Eddie Lynam could ruin such a good filly. He is not much better than Ado, if indeed he is. They should have sent her to a proper G1 trainer.

ringworm a minor skin infection "wow" hardly puts stones on the horses back?, anybody can train a racehorse. I'm sure that Ado would do a damn fine job if he was giving the chance to train the beach donkeys at Ballydoyle, the guy thats there now has an uncanny knack of making many of his inmates run like 3 mile slogging chasers?.
She does look like a very good filly all the same, Eddie didn't make her run any faster though. |
