Over 4,083 to see an easy 4-1 win v Derry, great crowd for a club with the game live on TV. You lads who stalk me may have to excuse me for a week if we do it, i'll be out celebrating.

Well for club sport in Ireland in an ordinary league match with no trophy being given out it is decent. I don't think any other clubs in Ireland in other sports would get that crowd for an ordinary  league match.

Give up about attendances you miserable git! Each to their own-sport should be enjoyed by all, not compared in such a stupid manner by a **** like you.

An ordinary league I agree........The other soccer clubs in sligo must struggle for crowds due to this.

They'd have the same crowds that say a local rugby, GAA or hockey club would get handful of people. The county quarter final were on the other week in Sligo in GAA and between four of the finalists there was 83 people so Rovers doing very well compared to them. Irishro your posts lack education.

Nice to some sort of sport prosper in Sligo even if the lads have to be brought in from elsewhere.........Off to watch the big match but nice to see smaller sports doing well and having some positive news for a change.....well done.

Smaller sport? You do know it's the most played sport in Ireland gant? Maybe you mean in Meath as only gaelic football is played there. Ok mate enjoy

Most played sport I agree. I am referring to the loi which is not too well known or supported.

Yes most people support British clubs and cheers them on in the pubs with their english accents, i seen this one in Meath, Chelsea fans referring to a local farmer down the road as a cockney while a guy that sold turf was being called a Manc, the publican shut them up by putting on a re-run of the sunday game Laugh

Skillwise I know what you mean........Hurling is an art......It's the difference between a premiership team and a loi team skillwise.........or the club where the loi lads go to in England Accrington Stanley
By:

Seamus Coleman, Roy Keane, Paul McGrath, Shane Long, Kevin Doyle, Keith Fahy never played for Accrington, leave the soccer to lads who come from places that play the game gant Happy

Lets hope the FAI spend the fifa grant they got the other day and build the centre of excellence in Abbottstown........It could see more lads like you named coming through........I hear 2 premiership clubs and a french club will give them a dig out probably in return for first choice of young talent.
By:

They all came from the LOI actually gant so nothing to do with the FAI. We have our own astro we went to the GAA clubs round Sligo including the county senior team. Shame the GAA could not give a little so they can build an astro for the GAA in Sligo.

the fai is your big daddy and the national team fund your league...........it's sad you feel the young talented players do not deserve a professional set up......those who don't make it can play in the loi........it's a win/win situation.

Sligo must be unique in the 26 counties, a town that is all soccer and where GAA is an afterthought. Would there be anywhere else like that, bar parts of Dublin obviously
