I was at the Curragh to see Nijinsky win the National stakes .  Have a video of the race somewhere  ( which I took myself ) , they dont have it on the Nijinsky tribute video ( Legends of horse racing ) .

Todays events show why there is the statue of Nijinsky at Ballydoyle .  Camelot could have been nearly as famous , but isn't , and wont be unless campaigned next year succesfully .

How many years of hype and hope will we have to wait until we see the next Triple crown winner ?  New Approach will be fav for most things involving a trip of distance next year , admire the horse a lot , hope springs eternal !

As I thought , Liam Ward rode Reindeer that day .  For Vincent .

Dont see Hutchinsons name on any  Irish Leger winner .  Always associated Ron with flying machines rather than stayers .  But he rode over 1000 winners in Europe , never mind those in OZ where he started circa end of World War 2  , finished late seventies , champion in Singapore etc then . And quite a few for Darkie as I recall .

No program to hand , workrider.  Remember the horse Nor allright ( not specifically that day ) , and  it definitely had Mullins connections .

Ah slickster , the older you get the less sleep you need .

Took my 2 eldest children to the Curragh that day , workrider , the main attraction for me was Nijinsky . Remember the kids holding up the program with Nijinsky ringed on it as the horses paraded .

Apart from All -Ireland programs , the only horse racing program I have is one from Sha-Tin in 2007 .  Work of art their programs , unbelievable amount of detail .  But they take out about 22% , part of the reason the Hong Kong Jockey Club are so well set up .
