first question , was it ever put into the race by its jockey ,imo no... was it ever asked for more than a token effort ,again imo no....did the jockey at any stage ride it out on entering the straight ...again imo no....i hope someone at galway has the balls to ask those questions ....
Only just got a chance to watch this. Typical forum stuff, shouting and roaring about a horse not trying rather than watching the ride closely. Lynch didn't look happy from the outset, he is a quiet rider, so you need to watch his hands rather than his whole upper body to see that he was urging him along from the very beginning of the race, as the horse probably wasn't enjoying the ground. More significantly, the horse got completely unbalanced coming down the hill and lost many lengths. Yes, Lynch didn't do much on him after that, but why ride him out strongly to finish sixth at best, save him for another day. No case to answer here, IMO.

I'd no bet and watched the race on replay concentrating on Lynch, the guy simply made no effort whatsoever once his stall opened, the horse has 3 solid runs in the book on easy ground albeit not as heavy as last night, what's "Typical forum" about that?(I didn't notice "urging" at any stage)

Workrider, I don't know what you are rambling on about there, but you've called this one wrong. Accusations of non trying are serious stuff and if I were you I'd at least have a proper look at the next one you suspect before throwing out such insinuations.

FFS workrider, we're talking about Galway. You said no effort was made, that is totally world. The horse definitely didn't handle the track and probably didn't handle the ground, which led to him having no chance from before the straight. You are wrong, end of.

so his used more than his hands on those other rides i mentioned did he not...so please explain why we should not consider yesterdays ride up for discussion redbait....?

I have already done that, twice. Do you think he should have given him six cracks of the stick when he was out of contention not long after halfway after clearly failing to handle to track and/or ground? There is a rule that forbids unnecessary use of the whip when out of contention too, you know.

the reason i put up this thread was to highlight the lack of effort from the jockey compered to its other races , also to appeal to the stewards to inquire about same ,so punters could be informed re his performance yesterday...simple ....

My point is, you didn't need to put up the thread, as anyone that looked closely at the ride would see that there was nothing dishonest about the ride. In fact, anyone that looked at it closely might have put the horse into their notebook as he could well bounce back at a big price on more suitable track/ground next time.

thanks for that info redbait , so there is never a need to ask why a jockey who in the horses last few rides gives it a few belts of the whip ..sits in behind , and never puts the horse into the race with any chance , i must keep that in mind mate ...i'll just keep strum next time and watch people been taken to the cleaners without any need to explain themselves ..gosh never thought of that before....

Yes workrider, you would have lots of mugs with no race reading skills agreeing with you. That may make you feel better, but it doesn't make your point any less than wrong than it is.

More horrendous race reading. The horse was backed all morning, but got no luck in running at all until it was all over. FFS lads, try actually watching the race properly before commenting.

A shame probably at the most important part of the race ie just before turning in he isn,t in the picture for it.Possible he didn,t like the ground as redbait said, seemed to me to give him a squeeze in each of the first two bends to keep his position.Looked bad alright coming into the straight he wasn,t moving on him and made a token effort in the end.

workrider I'm using a weak internet connection at work thats just about able to open a page, it would probably take an hour to stream the race video, so I won't be able to comment until I get home in the morning to a proper internet connection.

Workrider my honest opinion, I'm inclined to side with redbait a little on this one, the horse to me looked to be struggling to keep up with the early pace, when they turned into the straight the horse was too far out of his ground to make any difference to the result, yes he would probably have finished a bit closer if Lynch had been more forceful but I don't think there was any skullduggery at play here, even allowing for the rogue who was riding the horse.

That's the thing Bobby, non triers (not including the 50/1 shots that are out for education in maidens) aren't ten a penny in Ireland, certainly not on the Flat anyway.
