this is one of the worst irish teams ever imo....whats going to happen even ore han last time is , people will stop going to watch the team , those that haven't already that is ...trapattoni is to stubborn for his own good , and to rigid in his selection ..some really good players left our while others have simply given up on him ...cant blame gibson , imagine selecting green before him....no wonder the guy walked away...

What formation are we playing as with those players can we play 4-4-2 or certainly it would appear a strange formation to play.

Trap obviously has his favourites and picks players who he trusts will do a job..This team is Nowhere near good enough to qualify for the World Cup..How Simon Cox can start on the left wing instead of James McClean is beyond me..he is the perfect replacement for Duffer..Also Ciaran Clark is twice the defender O Dea is..Hes playing week in week out in the premiership and 1 of Villas very few positives this season..Shane Long is another who should consider himself unlucky although glad to see james McCarthy being given his chance..I think Ireland will still win as Kazakhstan will only pose a threat from set plays but another boring game on the cards.

who knows what formation he'll play rocket , but he's restricted by his players inability to play football anyway ...some shocking selections , and some players playing out of their best positions ...as dannymurphy says cox , who i happen to like bth , on the left instead of mcclean is pure trap madness ...that is just one example , i'm coming to the conclusion that if you play in the premiership thats the end of you as far as trap is concerned ....on paper we are the best team , the question is , will we be allowed show it and go and get goals ....or as usual will we defend till the cows come home and hope to grab a goal..

Bobbybocala you're exactly the kinda of plastic hammer wielding, leprechaun dressing, inflatable shamrock throwing Ole Ole merchant i despise and should be banned from all sporting events involving Ireland. "Half Irish men", if you want to have a go at their football that's fair game but the other guff you typed here is way below the belt. You're exactly the kinda fool that worked himself up into a frenzy before the Ireland v Croatia, you're a much bigger joke than these boys will ever be. If you want to have a proper go at Athletes who have let this country down look at those absolute jokers that made up the Irish athletics track & field team in the Olympics or the Irish gaelic team who kept on threatening to pull out of the international rules series until the game was changed in their favour so much that it's gaelic football played with a mark and and an extra set of posts at each end, even then they managed to lose a series. Our football team has got to the Euros we were poor no doubt and the manager should have gone but these players have always given everything for Ireland and punched well above their weight just getting to the finals.

We are ranked 15th in Europe so qualifying for a 16-team tournament isn't really punching above our weight

Trap can get away with O'Dea at centre back for this game alright he's not up to international level, should not be near the squad. Cox on the wing? He's a striker and an average one at that. McClean should be starting, for gods sake give the lad a chance, things need to be freshened up. I'm going for a 0-0 draw. |

The Kazak's form is shocking. Ireland no great shakes but this is the sort of match that suits trap tactics. some of his picks are questionable but should have too much for a very weak opposition, as long as the team not starting to question trap. 1.74 a fair price.
