He has already gone further than any other trainer in the two hundred years of the Classics,he goes into this years St Leger on the fifteenth of next month with the first four Classics already reposing in Ballydoyle this has never happened before,if he wins he will have a clean sweep of all the English classics. For a trainer to attempt this is some achievement but to do from a different country is remarkable.Henry Cecil won four classics in 1985 but failed at the first hurdle so never even got as far as Aidan has done this year. If he achieves this extraordinary clean sweep I hope his many detractors on here will finally acknowledge his brilliance.
Vincent had the benefit of training the Northern Dancers and some sons of decent horses he trained. Aidan OBrien not alone brilliantly trained Galileo but is now doing the same with his progeny.

I'm not one for boosting up trainers too much as I believe the quality of horse usually determines your faith.
Vincent was a visionary and its his vision which has allowed Magnier and Aidan to flourish.
Galileo? bloody useless horse by Scintillating Snail out of Tornado Tortoise, remarkable job by Aidan to get this piece of carp to win group one races?.

He wasn't half bad wildman, Irish 2000 guineas, Eclipse (beat Time Charter a decent mare I may add?) Irish champion stakes, r/up in French Derby and r/up up in King George, pretty close to a champion eh Wildman?

We can say the same about Danehill, was a damn decent racehorse but never thought of as a champion, super sire wasn't he champion sire himself, eclipsing the previously untouchable Sadlers?.
Galileo is by Sadlers Wells (needs no introduction as a sire) out of Urban Sea, considering broodmares havean 11 month pregnancy her record is quite remarkable. I seem to remember she was the dam of none other than Sea The Stars, they didn't know it at the time if ever a horse was bred to be a champion sire it was Galileo!.

Listen, he is training the best bred thoroughbreds in the world, so for a start he has a considerable advantage. He wasn't too clever when he put Joseph up on the wrong horse in both the 1000 Guineas and the Oaks. You would have to question his judgement in that regard. That would never happen in Vincent O'Briens day so you would hav to question his ability to identify his best chance in a race. It happens all to often these days and is a strong sign of incompetence. I doubt if there ever has been a trainer in the last 200 years who wins so many times with their second or even their third string horses. Furthermore Camelot will not stay the Leger trip. His best chance in that race is with Imperial Monarch.

Fair enough you may not like the operation but Gotchee if you are hanging your argument on the fact that Joseph didn't ride two of his Classic winners than it is petty in the extreme. How was he supposed to get off of Maybe in the run-up to Newmarket after the season he had on her last year? I'd wager that you wouldn't have had Homecoming Queen on your mind coming into that race and it was a bit of a freak result. Coming into the Oaks he again would have found it difficult to get off her. He can only ride one horse and decided to stay loyal to her.
You state that you've never seen as many second and third strings win from one stable. The reality is that there has never been a stable with the strength and depth of Ballydoyle and many of their so-called reserves would be flag bearers for other yards.

You are talking rubbish there, Gotchee. Vincent never had the numbers and depth of top horses that Aidan routinely has, thus he had very few chances to pick the "wrong one" as he rarely had two serious contenders for the same top race. Aidan is a ridiculously good trainer.

Gotchee talking rubbish ? Now there's a turn of events . It's funny (but also sad) to see how desperate some people are to dredge up ever more ridiculous 'arguments' to try to denigrate the achievements of an Irish world-class trainer. The sniping jibe that Aidan is not Vincent takes the complete box of biscuits.

Vubiant, if you want to have a go at me, thats fair enough but try and debate the topic. If you want to get personal thats another issue but I don't think that will achieve anything. It appears that when you dont agree with a poster on her you tend to slaag them off with your smart ar$e comments. If I have stated something that is not factual feel free to reply and maybe we could have a proper debate.
