Pa, Tiger look no further........

Jason dufner is in with a chance.
Memories,or maybe nightmares,of ryder cup 91 come flooding back .Langer missing that putt against hale irwin, one of the most dramatic evenings i can ever recall.Expect high scores if the wind blows. |

Howya Jay, was really hoping you might have said William Mc Girt,(550ish).A local man he has been practising at the course for the last week, with 5 top 25,s from 23 events and recently just beat by Scott Piercy comes here in top form. Not a big fan of Tiger at the moment,Jay,odds and current form don,t add up imo,but good luck.
Scott Stallings(350ish) and Angel Cabera(600+) were another couple of outsiders i thought might go well here.Probably start with them and throw in another few long ones. |

Rory looked better last week than he has for about 2 months . Think I will back him at 22 or 23 and hope he trades a bit lower . Gmac should get on well with the course . Cant remember if Padraig played here before ?
Of the Americans , I think Keegan will put up a good show in the defence of his title . And there is a bit of Irish in him ! Tigers putting was all over the place in his first 2 rounds last week , otherwise he would have been in the mix . Keeps threatening . |

I presume it is the same course but Pod and McGinley won the world cup at Kiawah Island.
|

By:
done a trixie 1st selection Pod top irish man at 11/4,2nd selection Rose top english player at 10/3,Ooastuizen top south african player 15/8,
Outright win bet Woods at 9/1 couldnt help take the 9/1,if he gets his putter going will be hard to beat, also backed K bradley the defending champ at 40/1 will be in great form after winning last weekend, and also backed Ooastizen e/w aswell at 35/1,has been playing some lovely golf recently, just if anybody were doing e/w bets powers are playing 6 places, best of luck. |

Feck this is tough, Linksy course and very long, even for these guys, threats of thunderstorms all week too, which will presumably mean the wind will get up, could be a big price winner, wouldn't touch Tiger with a barge pole as he will have to get the big dog out for a lot of the holes and he aint just confident with it at the minute.
Louis Oosthuizen 38's Steve Stricker 42's Robert Garrigus 100's Win & Place. Lay Tiger at 10.5's |

Another lottery really , good luck with yer bets. But im gonna wait till the first round is over and see what way its looking.
|

^ I don,t disagree irish guy, they are all lotteries really with 150+ fields, same maybe could be said about most forms of gambling racing etc.
While the purist could watch a sport without a bet, think most people need the added incentive of one particulary in minor tournaments, races matches etc. Most Golf bettors split their allocated bank into whatever say a quarter/third/half or whatever, some done pre-tournament and the reason why is obviously the odds could be a lot less with their fancy if he starts well, you also have an interest of the first shot hoping yours does well while putting the heebeejeebees on the other 149.Think a fairly standard way of playing the golf maybe 3-5 picks(might be one even if fancied) pre tournament adding 1 or 2 each round and selling a bit some to pay if allowed. Not all about finding the winner can be a form of spread betting on performance if you wish. Anyway i,m waffling on,looking forward to this, roll on thurs. |

Tiger 9/4 Top 5 for me
![]() |
|
By:
Tiger at 10s on a back to lay basis (hopefully!)
|
|
By:
I agree with you, pa lapsy. i usually have a formula for the majors not too different from what you said. But in this instance, i've no reaserch done and know very little about the course, weather, previous form etc . So for a change i'm gonna see what way the field is (esp tiger) after day 1. Best of luck all.

Anybody else offered the 12/1 about tiger via PP text betting?
|
|
By:
It's on their potty prices too, don't fancy him but a fair enough price given he's 10.5 on here, probably limit of £50 though.
|
|
By:
scrap Tiger top 5 at 9/4. Was in Powers earlier and saw they were offering 8/11 on a USA Winner and tripled my bet. Outstanding value. Traders have got that one badly wrong!
|
|
By:
Ye got that 12/1 text aswell from powers, couldnt help but put another 20 on,max stake was 100.

5 mins to off, weather looks grim first 3 days, can expect delays unfortunately. The draw will play a big part but a toss of the coin who it will suit, maybe morning/afternoon, but delays could wreck that.
GL. |
|
By:
Yes deplasterer tried to fathom out the draw myself and realised it could backfire easily,be nice if the delays happen during non televised times.

Anyone figure out the huge support for Dustin . 33/1 to 22/1 in last few days or so . Has he got radar assistance to keep the ball out of trouble , or is there no trouble ? Watching with interest , think it is emotional money rather than logical . Like him , but his record is littered with ups and downs .

Local boy Kelly, hits it long but his form has been patchy this past while, capable though. Pod out to 90's, tempting me now that is!

had the small interest of 9 on a baddley @ 265 and 10 on b haas 112...
|

By:
Laid off my Tiger bet- all green - job done.
|
|
By:
My 5 to watch are all doing well , I would be most hopeful about Rory who played and putted well . Tiger putted the lights out today , 22 putts as against 33 in one of his most recent rounds . Gmac and Padraig played in arguably the toughest conditions , hung in there well , and Keegan hit the front early but finished 3 under .
Roll on tomorrow , weather might play a bigger part than today , early out might be the dart . Cheers . |
|
By:
2.5 inches of rain last night, wind supposed to be strong at the moment, could be big numbers today.Irish players doing well but so many in with a chance.Lot of ye still in with chances with your picks, had to throw in another few in myself as yesterdays dukies were dire.GL

Thought the coverage on Sky was terrible
![]() |

winds 6mph SW, AM, Winds 15mph SSW, 60% chance of isolated thunderstorms PM. looks like the morning boys may have the best of it. Time to back Pod & McDowell maybe?
|
|
By:
Yeah, tend to stick to the marquee groups too much, show a good shot/bird from a lesser light and it can be up on the scoreboard for a few minutes.
Jayzus the alligator made some job on that snake last night and he wasn,t a small snake either. ![]() |

By:
Larrazabal who is +5 tweeted if he shoots level he thinks he will make the cut,(sky sports live commentary website) so it you would think its bad there and most bogeying first hole,Don,t know deplasterer looks a real lottery today to me,should handle conditions better than most though.
|
|
By:
pa if you were having a small win bet now who would you go with?..or a e/w?
|
|
By:
Yep, early scores suggest wind is up already Pa, wouldn't be rushing to take 6's about Rory or Tiger for that matter, could be a day for Pod to grind a score out maybe.
