What do RTE be playing at. After last weekend's entertainment they should have been sat together last night. Instead you had Kevin McStay, Ciaran Whelan and **** 'powerhouse midfielder' Clerkin, not an All Ireland medal between the three of them.

Clerkin has certainly positioned himself well in the media for a complete nobody of a footballer.
Has been desperate for Monaghan for past 2 years and was never one of the stars at any stage. Major error not having the 2 lads on last night. I would say many switched away that really wanted to see the 2 go at each other. |

Brolly hit the nail on the head when he said Kerry have never performed in the face of adversity. They did it again yesterday,he certainly showed up the ignorance of Pat Spillane. Here is a link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WyAZy4cM8uE

They have many All Irelands to their name but we now have
2002 against Armagh 2003 against Tyrone 2005 against Tyrone 2008 against Tyrone 2011 against Dublin 2012 against Donegal They have lost every struggle that they have been in at HQ. |

I am leaving out 2007 against Monaghan as the unpenalised kung fu kick by O'Se on Paul Meegan gifted them a goal.
Anyway, Monaghan games are long forgotten (except by us!) so it doesn't warrant inclusion. |

The Gotchee, I take it you are from Dublin.......I suppose you are judged on success and medals so hard to knock the Kerry lads there.

I am not knocking Kerry, they have been a great team, like Spillane you are missing the point. When it was put up to them they couldn't hack it. Great, great team but that was their achilles heel.

yoke gone mad here..........just saying.........Sure it's great in the last 2 or 3 years there are teams to put it up to them.

Would like to see Mayo do it this year. Dominance is not good for any sport.
|
|
By:
Maybe its a stupid question but was it not "put up to them" in the matches they won?
|
|
By:
Tolmi........That's my point.........off course it was put up to them and they have the medals to prove it.........some just like a cheap dig at a team in decline.

There was some justification for the view that the Kerry team / squad over the last 10 years were in contention for the accolade " best team since the near 5 in a row squad from seventies / eighties ". Would have been nearly in that camp myself .
However throughout that period there were some very poor performances , which their predecessors from the seventies could never be accused of . This year Kerry have been up and down like a fiddlers elbow , squeaking through and being ultimately outplayed over most of the field by a Donegal team which the jury is still out on . Time may change the viewpoint on that . Have heard various theories on it , but hard to figure out what happens when some of the best forwards of recent years --Gooch , Donaghy , O'Sullivan , Galvin , plus are made to look pretty inept throughout a match . Is it team spirit ? Or the effects of a series of long hard hauls , or is it just a Kerry thing ? Was in Kerry a few weeks ago for a short time , could not detect any great longing for the next match despite their excellent record in the back door re-entry system . Think there will be definite fallout from yesterday , players plus . |

As a Donegal man I would love to jump on Spillane after the shi'ite against Dublin last year but Brolly is only half right
Tyrone had an indian sign over Kerry but Armagh caught them out in 2003 & Dublin should have been beaten but they managed to get the breaks in the last 10 mins & roared back. Hwoever Kerry did beat Armagh in a titanic 1/4 final on raod to one Sam and in 2009 they beat a Cork side that destroyed Donegal & Tyrone. Kerry were simply awesome that day with Kennelly getting the shoulder in at the throw in & setting the momentum. Kerry didnt get 4 soft Sams, they had to win at least one big match to get them, maybe just not always in the final(against mayo) yesterday we were the superior side yet they still could have drawn the game. Gooch was quiet but he can turn a game in an instance. Yesterday, o Connor got his tatcts wrong, he overcomplcaited things to try to stop McHugh & Galvin was out of petrol after Tyrone |

Galvin should sue the county council for building the footpaths so close to his ar$e. His ar$e seems to be so close to the ground, its just not right.
