This new idea of have a presenter and guest in a studio in London commenting on Irish racing is a joke. Mick Fitz can hardly be faulted for having little knowledge of Irish racing form as he spends so much time on British racecourses. Bob Cooper today thought that Shekira was to be ridden by her trainer in the beginners chase. Their Irish presenter's role has been greatly reduced. Why?

In fairness to them both, they got the names of the horses right. Its Sherika and not Shekira.

Cooper whilst reading out the winners read them as a first second and third without noticing his mistake,Mick Fitzgerald does his research and knows his stuff despite not being a natural has developed into a good presenter.

It was painful to listen to. Irish racing is a specialist subject and the viewers deserve expert comment. Asking the British presenters to have a go on a subject that clearly isn't their niche isn't fair on them or the viewers, IMO.
