just a quick query a certain large bookmaker took a large sum of money from my bank account yesterday..i cudnt understand why but it turns out its from 4 days of deposits in june which hadnt been taken out at the time..at this stage I was leaving a job and got some money so didnt even notice that the money hadnt came out of my account as on my account history it showed the money had been deposited..As i didnt have that much money in my account at this time the money the bookmaker took out in one go put my bank a/c into overdraft which is not allowed by my bank..now their saying im going to incur penalties for this it also caused an embarrasing situation when i was out yesterday.. the fact they didnt send me an email regarding the error annoys me..could this actually have been the banks problem do you think?? has it happened to anyone else?
no it was pp..it seems some of the deposits came out but the rest didnt.. when i went through my transactions for the week in june about half my deposits didnt come out..its a really strange situation..irish guy it was for a decent three figure amount..its the lack of notice that annoys me especially taking it all in one go

Chargeback option may be open to you as you didn't authorise these transactions, but not sure what your bank will say to this, as technically you owe them the money. But worth a try anyway & also a call to PP customer service but that will probably be a waste of a phone call.

Had the same problem with btpack late last year. Chunks of money would leave my bank account, return, and leave again without notice a fortnight later - that sort of thing.
It was a pain in the youknowwhat and a little bit alarming, but I just let it go. From experience, I know you can't win an argument with a bookie or a bank. I've hardly used btpack since.
Deplaster's comment about chargebacks is interesting, but I use a debit card, so I'm not sure chargebacks apply.
Let us know how you get on, erris.
