Think Hawkeyethenoo has a great chance in the race at around 16/1,only 12/1 with powers, was coming with a great run in his last race and would of had a great chance of winning only to run into some traffic problems,G Lee rode him last time so hopefully he will be back on board,Hes made huge improvements since hes made the switch to the flat, and seems to do well in sprint races,so with abit of luck in running cant see him outside the 1st 5 so think its a great e/w chance, any views on the race or Lee riding on the flat lads?
Looked at his Ascot run and as you say had a troubled passage, suppose Goodwood should suit given his hold up style you need luck in running there more than most places though.Interesting he has an entry in Group 1 sprint at Haydock a few weeks later. In the Goodwood cup suppose i,ll be due a knockback at the bank of Simenon still after them two runs at Ascot has to be followed til beat.

Spotted that run certainly would've went very close, I actually backed Hawkeye in the Wokingham which leaves him very closely matched with another major player in Waffle.
A couple of outsiders I like are Desert Law and Tax Free, Desert Law fell out of the stalls last time and stayed on nicely without be knocked about on Saturday, though their is a suspicion a strong run 5 suits better?, Tax Free had been out of form before running a nice race to finish 3rd at York over the w/end. Tax Free ran 2nd to Hoof It in the Stewards last year, maybe Dandy has been saving him to peak for this race and is a couple of pound lower.
I'll hang fire until the final decs and see who actually makes the cut.

I had very little luck at Galway, so will go a few bob on this huddys, he always seems to give 100%, any time I've watched him. Haven't looked at race but I imagine he is near the top of the weights.

Only 5lb higher for last years win, this years race looks less competitive looks a stonewall certainty to at least make the frame, holds an entry in the Group one sprint at Haydock if thought good enough for that should really be competitive in this, and looks like the horse has been campaigned with a repeat win in mind?.
A general 16/1 you can't go wrong surely?, Shropshire looks another that could run a decent race.

Rex Imperator - finished 6th in the Wokingham and 2nd to Tropics at Windsor in June. Plenty of 16/1 about and 5 places each way.
Whozthecat - shown great improvement in recent months and I think this track will play to his strengths and has a great attitude. 25/1 5 places as well.
Gl everyone.

Sometime when you get a chance have a look at some of the threads on here complimenting good rides.A regular feature of them is a poster with a mantra that it is all about the horse.
Maybe when you read them(Ruby Walsh's ride on Darroun being a recent one) you might reflect on the compatibility of your 20.44 post with the thoughts you express on them.
Remember its all about the horse ...or should there be a caveat depending on what you have backed??

I didn't slate the jockey as such tolmi, he did find loads of trouble but in these big field sprints there will always be an element of luck for horses held up unfortunately my selection was one of the worst sufferers.
BTW well done Monte on a good priced winner.

To be fair the winner travelled a dream and to quote your good self from a different race he was clearly the best horse in the race.
Maybe you didn't exactly slate the jockey but it wasn't exactly a ringing endorsement either!!!

I was mostly lamenting my own bad luck, yes the winner won well so its debatable if Hawkeye would've won with a clear run but shoulda placed at least, only beat a little over 4L's when only seeing daylight when the race was already over.
