Really like the look of Seanie in the 5.35..Has some classy 2 year old form..on his only run on good ground this year, off 96, he got badly hampered against sole power in Cork would have put it up to him with a clear run ..sole powers rated 108 now seanie must be thrown in off 94..decent draw as well think 20/1 is cracking value

yeah doesnt look great didnt weld basically say today "mine wont win if it turns soft"? seanie won the big fairyhouse sales race on yielding/soft last year but hes better on good ground..just noticed hes also getting the 7 pound 3 year old allowance as well might make up for the ground

I like ROYAL BLUE STAR in the same race. She was 2nd in this last year, and is off the same mark. She has had a nice break, I would expect her to lead, and trade much shorter. 20/1 is decent eway value.

Considering George Kent bought Custom Cut from Weld to use as a lead horse it would be amazing if he were to win tonight's feature. Opposing Weld in two year old maidens is not normally a good idea but the OBrien filly ran well under tender riding in Naas.I accept the Naas race was a poor maiden but there was sneaky market support for Magical Dream and with the tender riding think there is massive improvement in this filly, she also seems straight forward unlike yesterday's beast.Welds filly is well bred but has not had a run yet and that is a huge negative. Magical Dream the nap for me.

Thought Mallowney in the first had a better chance than the 30+ he is quoted on the exchanges.Alright it was a maiden last time but to be fair the manner was impressive.Galway should suit him, maybe ted dolly didn,t frank the form yesterday still i,d be hoping he,d be placed anyway with the way he won at Ballinrobe.

one I like at big odds today is discovery bay, stays the distance, although doesn't race prominently will get a nice position from stall 1, hopefully as a 4yo improvement is still to come! 40/1 in the 5:00

6.40 Maundy Money 11/1 Been waiting for weeks to see where he'd be aimed at: back into the race he won 4 years ago, now off a 9lb lower mark with tonights jockey taking a further 5 off - signs that he's still enthused with racing as a 9yo at Killarney lto and should love the ground (looking like soft by racetime with the rain still coming down here)
Saint Gervais in the 1st is looking like a good thing - Kiely has a good strike rate at the track with Barry booked, well backed

Looking at the 5.35 bearing the rain in mind, I can't decide between: Custom Cut 9's, Vastonea 8's & Miracle Cure 16's Can Custom Cut (good draw) keep improving? Miracle Cure seems to be getting 11lbs from Custom Cut based on the their race at the Curragh on Jul 21?? (is that correct?) If so, then that may sway me towards Bolgers.
Prendergast has a good record in the race and I have always got the impression that his horses like testing ground!(By Verglas, whose progeny seem to like cut) Lightly raced and could be open to progress.
Thinking of backing both Vastonea & Miracle Cure (both have mid draws) Any thoughts?

Every time Pride Of The Artic (one of my pointers) won connections moaned about the soft ground and the fact that he'd like it better. What chance have you??? Sometimes you know just too bloody much!
