Did he really say that? He's got some sort of public relations company hasn't he? Must be the arch knob in RTE, by the way is he in Ireland or London at present? Have you ever seen the number of personnel that have been dispatched to cover the Olympics? Even Sharon ni Bealbocht got the news gig over there on Friday night last.

I wonder if this story develops he may have to apologise on air. Wonder if the mainstream Irish media will pick up on this? I noticed too that RTE seemed to have a large number over in London, the entire sports team as well as a few of the news people. Do they have their crew as well? Last jolly before the cutbacks bite?

Cutbacks obviously don't apply in RTE, look at the European championships they had John Murray's and Hector's morning radio programmes broadcast from Poland as well as two television news reporters specially flown over for the duration, God knows what Tony Connelly or that other guy whose name escapes me at present who are the European correspondents made of the whole thing.
