A feature I noticed in the betting ring was the influx of new women bookies, for years Ellen Martin led the way but now the bossmen seem behind the stall on computers.
The one for Bigwilliestyle was a new bookmaker to me called White,he had two girls operating, one Irish one presumably from Thailand both lookers,a different one today but the girl from Thailand still there and appearing the boss.

Presumably from Thailand?  Did you detect a Thai accent or how did you jump to such a conclusion?
Report wildmanfromborneo June 30, 2012 11:21 PM BST
Jumped to that conclusion I am afraid, she looked Thai to me and like most Orientals polite and friendly.

Wildman has been with enough ladyboy's to know how thing's work. When he says she's Thai she Thai, Wildman probably knows her brother.

Borneo, in polite society the accepted description is 'Asian' and not 'Oriental' when referring to a human being.

Oriental may still be used to describe an inanimate object, for example, an Oriental rug.

Indians are Asian but not Oriental,i define Orientals by the shape of there eyes, that comment will probably have the PC mob in meltdown.
Report Ozymandius June 30, 2012 11:55 PM BST
Ahhhh, your personal definition!.  As opposed to accepted useage!!

Question:  Where do Oriental rugs come from and how would you describe the shape of a person's eyes in this land?

My definition has just run into trouble.

Laugh

Its a tricky term, best avoided!  It means different things in different places.  And its meaning has shifted over time, arguably it still is.
