The sheer collective genius of Irish trainers shone through again this week - Bolger ,Marnane , Mullins , O'Brien and Weld.
Hats off to the boys -they're doing their bit for the national reputation (and the balance of payments Grin)

Wachman too. I have nothing else to do until the football starts so I thought I'd post them up. 8 in all over the five days, that's just over 25% Irish trained winners. Unlike Cheltenham where Irish trained are a plenty, I think it's safe to say if an Irish trainer sends one over for this meeting, it's worth a look. Is that the best ever Irish success at Ascot? Not sure.

Coolmore probably were expecting 2 or 3 more but then I suspect some of those will pop in again, and at good prices, as the summer progresses.

Yup -knew there was another one but couldn't dredge up the name .
Only John Oxx missed out this year but he still got in the frame .
Saddlers Rock ran a blinder and is only 4 so should be a live Gold Cup contender again next year.
Born To Sea looks to need 10f now.

And no unnecessary triumphant unfurling of tricolours either which I have always felt is a little inconsiderate towards one hosts.

A magnificent occasion all round.

Only bet of the meeting, Memphis Tennessee, tailed off last.

I'm sure the horses are well aware they're trained in Ireland or is it they were probably superior anyway?.

God O'Brien had 2 winners and a few places and many many stinkers.
Myself I was pretty selective with his horses, I backed 3 of his, Athens 2nd, Ishvana 20/1 thank you very much and Harrisons Cave (ew) who I just had a sneaky feeling would leave his stinking Curragh run behind, hardly a novelty with this putrid operation.

But for the so called worlds greatest trainer even some sycophants have labelled him the greatest of all time? he's an uncanny knack of training stinkers?.

Obviously!

Hong Kong sent one horse over and it won a Group one, I think the French saddled 4 2nds and a third yesterday?.
