If you take out the Gold Cup and maybe the fillies 1ml 4f race a Group2, this has the distinct appearance of a September day in Listowel.
Its a bit like yesterday and So You Think, with today being Fame+Glory day. You either think he's a good thing or your a layer.
Having backed him last year I'm not deserting him and hopefully he wins again. He could well improve a fair bit, just like Yeats, and the evens is holding.

f&g win
3.05 - kailani (place)
7.30 TAKAR win
7.55 starsky des mottes (place)

over 650 if it wins, dont fancy anything too strongly today.

i do think kailani will win the ribb so have a score on that to win.

Thought Carlton House would deliver yesterday but he was put in his place again.

Princess Highway for Weld in the Ribblesdale. She comes here fresh after winning a group 3 at Naas over a 1m2 four weeks ago and had Oaks winner Was behind her. DK knows how to win this race and like Ryan Moore stated in his piece today, a big positive for her is that she bypassed the Oaks, 6 of the 14 declared today ran at Epsom and may have had hard races.

How come Joseph doesn't get the ride on Fame And Glory? He might now anyway as that was pathetic from Spencer, couldn't believe where he was in running Shocked

The Hay family own part of the horse, and Spencer is their retained rider.

Very odd ride indeed.

I'd be surprised if Murtagh was annoyed with himself after the Golp Cup. He couldn't seem to decide in which hand to hold the whip -started in right-changed to left and horse lugged in a little-eventually back in right to straighten the horse.

He was finishing with all the momentum on the line just with hands and heels.

I'm glad we didn't have to witness Smith act the usual pig with Fitri Hay afterwards.

Fennell Bay (14/1) for me in the last. Mark Johnston usually has his eye on 1 or 2 handicaps at this meeting and this one won 4 days ago to be sure of a run.

Well done winners, Spencer was poor on F+G, but no pace to the race turned it into a &/8furl race.
Hard to win back to back Gold Cups and we should now really see how Yeats was such a star.

Great shout lads.

Not having a good meeting. Dropped a ton over the first two days.

Laid Reckless Abandon at 5.9 and Fast Or Free at 9.4 today counteracted by a small e/w bet on Princess Highway.
Also waiting on Oilily ( hoping the ground ain't find him out)  in a Lucky 15 having got the German horse 15/2 earlier on. Pity I didn't take the 10/1 earlier on.

Ground is going to be soft tomorrow it looks like, Gosden's in the first coped with a bit of cut at newmarket on debut, she really hacked up there that day and I'm coming around to her. He runs a filly called Chat in the Chesham and i was really impressed with her on degut, she's Strawbridge owned and related to Rainbow viw. There was a Fretwell horse fairly well backed in the Haydock race and another decent one that escapes my mind. anyway, I'll definitely be backing her on Saturday.
