I thought Phils Wish was an eyecatcher in the 6.50 and is one for the notebook, particularly over a longer trip.

I see he is going again tonight. He has been upped in trip from 5f to 7f and he is being backed as well.Shocked

Hello tony, only bet for me today, liked its debut, stayed on well and the rest well beaten. As always don,t know what the debutants are like but they don,t seem too positive in the market.Afraid of Tiger stripes who wasn,t beaten far(4 3/4l) in what looked a hot enough maiden(8th and 10th placed nto). At a bit over 2,s thought RG was worth a play but would by no means say he was a good thing.

Thanks tony, had a couple of weeks holiday and was "asked" not to go near a computer.Hope you got a few winners in the meantime.
Big drift on RG (3.15-3.8)since first post and TS backed in weak market, think i might be a bit "rusty"Confused. GL

A few to lay tonight.

Race 1) Rose Garden 3.2 Out to to 3.6 but backed in to 3.25 now. Hoping it's a Galway horse for the Friday night Auction maiden.

Race 2) Among Equals 4.5 Now 5.2 O'Brien's rarely win FTO.

Race 3) Sharp and Smart 5 Owned by former trainer Jeremy Harley.

Race 4) Sheila's Wish 5.1 Carroll needs winners badly as he aint with Halford any more who always supplied him with guaranteed winners every season.

Race 5) The Fox Tully 3.75 A very fair price for a horse who is basically a winner without a penalty.

Race 6) Fluidity 2.44 Five last time out winners should ensure a competitive heat.

Race 7) Hay Point 3.55 Tony57 has ensured this one has come in for support to 3.3

Race 5)

The 9.00 Maiden is almost certainly the most interesting race on the card. I think the one to be with is Mayameen at the current 10/1. I saw him up pretty close last time in the Curragh and the horse is an absolute giant - easily over 17hh. He was a very expensive (£400k) 2yo and it has just taken him this long to find his way to the racetrack as he was such a big horse I am sure he needed lots and lots of time, which he has been given. I think as people see the connections they expect that he is just for the handicaps later in the year. His run last time wouldnt suggest that, he was behind early but was ridden without the intent of being hidden. If they were looking to hide him they would have dropped him back in trip rather than up to the 12f they have tonight. Id guess behind the scenes there is an impatient owner and they are forced into getting a strike in front into him sooner rather than later possibly with a view to being campaigned in a different jurisdiction once his handicap mark allows for it.

On the flip side, Hay Point is an absurd price and Warwick Avenue looks like one of those APOB horses that we might still see running in maidens this time next year (or else win the leger :)), and Zabana looks like his long term rating will be very much in line with those who finished around him the last day in Wexford. I just think in a weak race the prices are all wrong. Mayameen would seem a reasonable EW alternative to those at the front of the market to me.
