the reality is ,trap got us here and nearly to a world cup, with a bunch of journey men,not one world class player in the squad, that to my mind is a hell of an achievment

Its what Delaney says counts , and rumour has it he wants Trap to be given an open-ended contract, and its said to bee a dunne deal....

Don't think the knives are out for him, that job is his as long as he wants it I'd imagine.

We just don't have the players, to be fair we probably should not even be there.

I think with the few additions to come in September, things will look better again. Trap clearly places a premium on loyalty but it is a clean slate after this. Brady, McCarthy, Coleman, Houlihan, McClean and Long can all add something. Even Gibson might improve with football, I'd rate Moyes a good judge.

Hes bottling it imho. Mumbling on today about not wanting to put pressure on McClean....

What pressure......if anything he has nothing to lose given how garbage they were in the first match

Refreshing to see the raw enthusiasm of Oxlade Chamberlain after the game today....like a school kid who got free run at a candy shop...
Rather see that than the turgid run of the mill displays of the captain of Ireland

The only reason Ireland qualified for Euro 2012 was down to pure LUCK!!

All they done was beat Armenia, Macedonia, Andorra and Estonia......Trapattoni was just extremely lucky it wasn't down to him they qualified it was just luck!

I agree there donal. Isn't Trap known for "being a lucky Manager", the thing that really annoyed me was the losing Irish singing (like fools), imho they were worse than the Vuvuzelas at the last World Cup.

imho ,idont think getting rid of the trap is the right thing to do now.u have to look at the talent that is available,if u think that they sud be encouraged to play on the deck, pass the ball, movement, wingers taking on players down the channels, central midfielders making time and space when on the ball,u are sadly deluded.steven ireland is the only irish player capable of that type of football atm,but hes a fcking tos ser, more trouble than hes worth.trap knows the players are not good enough and so believes in the system that will maximise getting results.as john giles said last night ,its depressing but thats where we are.replacing trap with some yes man for the fai will only make things worse and give us no chance of qualification for the world cup!
