Another superb performance from the Kilkenny cats, and if anyone thought that there were green shoots for hurling in Cork, well Brian Cody dispelled that notion. Out of traps like a greyhound 1-5 to nil and game over after 5/6 mins. In my view there is only one team at the moment with any hope of putting it up to KK and thats Galway. Limerick and definitely Tipperary have issues off the field and that doesn't bode well for them.Dublin are not nearly good enough and with Wexford, Waterford,(off the field issues as well),and Clare all bracketed at about the same level Kilkenny should make it two in a row. Hurling is at an all time low and I fear for the future, as so many distractions now for young players, and with Kilkenny miles ahead of the rest, there is little incentive to become involved or stay involved.

Hard to argue to the contrary jay, this mauling would've dented Corks new found confidence big time, the game was all but over at half time as such Kilkenny could afford to go through the motions in the 2nd half, I think it was 10 points all 2nd half.
I'm not sure about Galway a lot of new blood, maybe a season too early for them?.

Once this Kilkenny team gets a comfortable lead early it usually spells curtains for their hapless opponents.

Its safe to say Kilkenny were not at their peak yesterday and still won with almost embarrasing ease and they also had a host of big name injuries, it seems it would take an Aiden O'Brien like act of GOD to stop them from claiming yet another all Ireland?.

Silver you do know AP O'B is a Wexford man, and probably no great fan of the cats. However he himself was a skillful young hurler with Good Counsel College down here  New Ross, and indeed was a player in both codes underage with his parish Killegney. So wouldn't have alot to do with Cody's troops. In fact some talk here now that HS may not make it back but probably just that, talk.
