Well the fact is there isn't one on this forum .  Not a mention today , despite the fact that they were playing in the heart of Dublin .

Cant ignore their performance though , battled well in an interesting game . Interesting to see if there is any interest expressed in Leinster tomorrow at the same stage in the Heineken .  Would like to see that as a final , but my money would not be on Ulster .

Kelly nobody is listening but I've been saying for a while now any team that beats the Leicester Tigers and Munster (in their own precious ground) have to be taking very seriously.

No I have no financial interest but I do follow the game closely and Ulster are a serious threat to the Lunster fans.

I'm from Leinster but I take their support with a pinch of a salt a few years back they were in Cardiff supporting Munster hence Lunster, come on Ulster!

Fermanagh played in Dublin today also..Tyrone tomorrow...Linfield won their 51st league title and Ryan Farquhar won 4 in Cookstown....

Still on a day when headlines were made by a van travelling from Leinster to Ulster-the invasion of Leinster by Ulster was seemingly overshadowed AngryAngry

I was at the game, Ulster didn't seem near the level of the Munster performance, Edinburgh are not in the class of the top teams had an awful lot of possession and territory. A better team would have punished Uster.

I have layed my colours on the ground. Leinster fans sicken me, now they're a force in rugby. the same fans were all over Munster, hence Lunster.

richters - u seem to ignore the fact that Paddy Jackson was carrying the 9 county Ulster flag.  A fair few in the crowd as well.  Not all Ulster rugby fly the other flag.  Well done Ulster

'Lunsters' is a very out of date term.  These days its all about the 'Meinsters'

Silvergreaser how unlike you for a paranoid tirade.

Leinster have benefited they have sold themselves well. They play in a city of 1 million + and the new faces you see at Leinster games are often not typical rugby people more families and children. Tickets are good value and unlike Ireland they are very much available. Munsters crowd hasn't certainly contracted by 10's of thousands now the Lunsters have come home.

Its all tribal in this country, when Munster were winning Heineken cups Munster weren't representing their province but the tri colour, people from all over the Island donning Munster jerseys packing out Cardiff in their thousands, there was probably more people from the other 3 provinces than actual people who reside in Munster, a little pocket of Biarritz fans surrounded by tribalism, no sign of Toulouse or Stade Francais supporters over to cheer on their fellow countrymen, why? because Biarritz are a club team not the French national team!, not Munsters fault that tribalism abounds in this country and the whole country decided they were not actually representing the province of Munster but our small insignificant Island that suffered so badly under British rule, we'll always be the downtrodden little guy and anything Irish is the cue for massive outpourings of narrow minded tribalism, and dare a referreeing decison go against us?, all hell will break loose.

If you walked down the centre of Northampton you wouldn't see a Leicester Tigers shirt or a Saracens shirt, but travel from Donegal to Waterford and back and Munster jerseys are everywhere.

The dispicable carry on after Thierry Henry's handball summed up our sad country in a nutshell, fair play, but only when it suits us!.

Absolutely untrue, not even warm.

I went along yesterday, I played for Leinster at youth level and was given tickets through people there. I didn't cheer on Ulster nor Edinburgh I went as a neutral and I would do similar for Munster as well.

For the rest of it you go off the point completely. The thread title is Ulster Rugby and you bring Thierry Henry up.

How many Munster fans will be in Bordeaux today for
Leinster - Clermont

The strength of Munster's support was demonstrated during Munster's 2006 and 2008 Heineken Cup final wins. News reports detailed the lengths some fans were willing to go to secure tickets to the game. Some Munster fans travelled to Biarritz to buy up the French allocation of tickets.[29] On the day of the game the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff was filled with a capacity crowd of 74,500. Of those numbers it is estimated that in excess of 55–65,000 were Munster fans

You said the above, you have quite clearly rubbished that yourself. Munster Rugby certainly developed a band wagon but to say that they had more supporters from outside Munster then within Munster is ridiculous.

How do you define a Munster fan squigs?, the one from Munster or the one from Connaught or the ones from Lunster or even Ulster.

Thomond Park has a capacity of 26 thousand +, how many of the people who are at Thomond Park for a Munster Rugby game are from outside the province?.

I work with a guy who travels to Thomond almost religiously yeh you know the type of supporter I'm on about?, the one who has both a Leinster and a Munster jersey.

If there wasn't more bandwaggoners than actual Munster people squigs you can be sure it was pretty close to 50/50?.

Hard probably for you to believe but some people just like good teams and enjoy sport.
I know lads in Meath that will travel to club hurling matches in Kilkenny and Tipp and county matches in Croke park, semple stadium etc...........
Thousands upon thousands travel over to watch premiership matches every week........If you have to travel to enjoy your sport so be it.

There were 40,000 Ulster fans at the game yesterday and I didn't hear any non Ulster accent on anyone in an Ulster jersey. Ravenhill holds 12,300.

Where they band wagoners?

You might as well attatch the same tag to Dublin GAA once the league season is over and to Shamrock Rovers once they moved to Tallaght. If an excitement or buzz is being generated crowds will go up. As explained with Leinster, they moved to the RDS, the team started performing well, the investment in youth and schools rugby paid off, they can play big games at the Aviva. As a nation we like the band wagon but it does not number 10s of thousands as you suggest.

Extra marketing, better facilities, family friendly "events" numbers can really swell and thats what changes the casual fans to regulars.

The IRFU made a better effort then the FAI in attracting kids to games in the Celtic Tiger years. They could see the profile of people going to games was often older and privately educated. Now these kids have their own income they are going themselves to games. Tickets were for internationals were widely available through schools for €5-€10, and Leinster games were often given away.

Gant those Meath fans would not be so forthcoming when it comes to supporting say Dublin or Kildare now would they?, nothing like good natured rivalry between neighbouring conties, what football or any sport should be all about, not tribalism.

The only thing missing from Munster Rugby is they don't actually wear the green of Ireland, although you'd be forgiven for thinking some fans are colour blind?.

Fair play to Ulster, and herEs hoping Leinster can ensure more Heineken Cup euros for the poor rugby relation in the west next year.  I was at most of Connachts games this season, and was delighted that they kept the same season ticket prices as 2010, (€99) until the day before the hc draw.  We havent had a place kicker since Ian Keitley left for greener pastures and this has cost us games, but we will have Dan Parks for next season, and I believe he will stay on as part of the coaching staff.  Being a Connacht fan is great because we get the support(and sympathy) of the other provinces, unlike the bitching that is going on here, thats the price of success.

Guaranteed Irish winner now .  Brilliant stuff from Leinster , but what were Clermont doing taking off some of their best players who had given Leinster no end of trouble .

Ref was not a homer . Clermont just not disciplined enough to win .

Roll on the final , although I would have to be giving Leinster the nod . But it will be a great occasion which is half the battle . Good on you both provinces !
